    It's either a blocking call, or a no-call.

I'd love if you could actually get a charge now and then, like in Live 09, or if it simply resulted in a clean strip from time to time.

You get the turnover, if you can beat the handler to the spot while dribbling..but never if you beat himto the spot while he goes up for a layup and you press Y or X.

-While it is nice to have a basketball game acknowledge body contact on drives..ive been hollerign about this for years...some size/weight context would be nice.

there are defenders who should be near impossible to move, due to their strength.

It should be pretty difficult to establish position against Shaq..for example.

in this game, you can root yourself into the post, wherever you want, whenever.
While I agree totally with your post... this part

There has never been so much sliding on this gen Live since footplanting until this year.

Look at the 09 videos, you just dont see it

      What?????????

I've seen an increase in all of those since patch. It's outright arcade like movement right now. Ridiculous...locomotion is sped up in some weird way.

I was defending the game alot before but now I'm trying to figure out if the game is worse now than the demo...

The contact animations are what I hate the most about live 10. It makes the game so damn frustating sometimes where I can only stomach one game and have to turn it off. I know some people have the "angles" down now and so on so forth. But I just dont get it. Getting sucked into these animations at certain times when I know it shouldn't is VERY frustrating.

              Exactly right DRE.

I've sold my copy of LIVE 10...the first time i've ever "got rid" of a LIVE game.

Like you, I just felt they needed to add a few things to LIVE 09...really just build off the base...and they'd have a pretty good game.

Instead, they removed the post game...killed offensive rebounding...and made things like weight and momentum worth absolutely nothing. Shaq or a 5 foot PG = the same physical capabilities in LIVE 10.

They completely did away with charges...basically no charges in an NBA game, WTF.

IMO the animations themselves are way too limited...but that reflects the limited / generic nature of the game. You see the same thing over and over again regardless of whether it's Shaq or Dirk or D-Fish or a 4 foot midget. Generic.

I've no idea what motivated them to kill off so many things about LIVE 09...it's really dissapointing after getting pretty hyped about the pre release stuff. "Adding all that stuff to LIVE 09...awesome"...instead they added a few things and regressed dramatically all over the place in other areas.

You are 1000000% right also about the sliding...it's terrible in LIVE 10.

And yet it was almost non existant in LIVE 09...the footplanting was superb in that game.

I've never really crticisied Beluba and co. on these boards...been a fan since Inside Drive...but they butchered a lot of stuff in LIVE 10 IMO.

Instead of a nice leap forward from LIVE 09...they took one step forward in some key areas and went back massively in other areas.

Um no, thats the "other" game. Live is true to weight and height speed factoring.

Precisely, Live is back but its also not back...I don't know what they did but Live 11 better not be anything short of a 9.0+ game otherwise I've had it. I'm tired of settling for mediocrity in NBA games.

                  .
                  Firstly...let's not mention 2K.

Secondly...you are absolutely kidding if you think LIVE is "True to weight and height". Honestly, I doubt you've even played it if you say that. There's no weight factor at all. You can back down Shaq using a skinny SF.

Look at Dre's vid...Shaq getting pushed back by the Birdman! LOL. You can do the same with just about any player.

I downloaded the demo of NCAA '10 tonight and playing that game on Varsity (Live's Pro) is soooo much better in terms of contact animations than Live. They're still in the game but you can get so many more clean lay ups.

You seriously need to stop with that nonsense every thread....were talking about LIVE 10

Just b\c you put it in quotations and call it "the other game" doesnt mean your not trolling the thread....

But on that note id love to see how Shaq running in Nash\ vice versa, and getting the same animation\result equals weight translation....

This used to happen in 09 all the time, and was very frustrating. I can remember many days screaming "WTF? he just went right thru my man!!".

That is my biggest problem with it. If you are going to down the path of creating contact animations you need to go all the way with it. If I have a power dunker running down the lane with just a point guard in the restricted circle in my way, then I should atleast trying to go right through him. But instead too often my player goes into the double clutching contact animation. Too often when off a pick and roll, my player goes in weak instead of going in strong. But I think that is related to the same issue of my PFs getting a rebound and then trying a complicated layup instead of dunking it home.

real basketball is about split second momentum changes and footwork, this needs to be a focal point in live 11 and 2k11.

NBA games need to advance more than they are. otherwise alot of us will skip NBA gaming forever
In 2k10 I can totally tell the different between a CP3 drive and a LeBron drive. LeBron just get shots off no one else gets in the game.
