First out my limited experience with Patch #2 I'd say it's a major improvement. About 70% back towards pre-patch #1.

    1. Still doesn't punish you for over dribbling but it does punish you for running into the lane w/at least some idea of what you're going to do, just not as much as pre-patch #1.

    2. The auto protect the ball is still there but I tested it on a couple and pick and rolls and it's not as much of a problem anymore.

    3. Jumpshots seem harder to make now, but they may be that I haven't played since the early days of patch #2

    4. Suction D seems to be gone, YIPPEE!!!

4.a. Cat and mouse D (playing the angles) seems to be back for the most part! yippee!

I really hope the devs don't read this thread to seek advice as to what to do with Live 11. There are guys who simply can't play complaining about stuff that would really screw the game up. (Sorry, nothing personal) R1 magnetic field!? R1 is just supposed to be something to help (operative word is HELP) you play D not play it for you. Let go of R1 back off of your check (unless you're much faster than he is) when he's moving and close out when he shoots! On Ball Defense 101. Why on earth would they make it so that we'd hold a button down and watch the CPU play D for us? Shucks if they do that why even have to hold the button down, why not just let the CPU take over on D? It's not that hard to defend the cheese 3pt shots or any jumpers for that matter. Use it to your advantage that you know no matter where he runs you know where his goal is and just back up a little and keep yourself between him and the basket (that will require minor sliding side to side not cat-like reflexes) and then close out on the shot with the proper timing. One quick hint is that the proper time to make him miss isn't as soon as he releases the ball unless he's real close to the basket. Personal responsibility dictates that when one reaches an unfavorable result that he ask himself what did I do wrong not blame it on something someone else did, even if it's their fault.

Sorry for the rant but I just fear that the complainers will turn Live into 2K then I'll have nothing to play. It's been that way since patch #1 now it's back to being playable for me. One other question for you guys that give EA business advice: How many of you run a business?

One last impression is that the flow and feel to the game is back in the direction of pre-patch #1, YIPPEE!!!!!! Sorry for my tone in this post but I feel that the complainers contributed to Patch #1 and I don't want them to contribute to Live 11, especially after all the progress that was made in Live 10 (at launch)
    Excellent impressions. Good to hear

Unfortuantly it seems the quite improved steals that came with patch #1 are gone and it's back to out of the box steals. Also in my current game I've had 3 3 pointers count as 2 when shooting from the sides. Checking the replays they were clearly 3's.

Yes Dirty it was a typo and i have made it clear in a PM and in a new thread that it wasnt on purpose , it was a typo. Name calling is really childish and i was shocked on why you guys had mentioned that but i didnt realize i was making a typo.

Re: NBA Live 10 Patch #2 Available For 360, Post Impressions Here

To be fair it's a bit hard to comment on impressions as there isn't really any big changes to comment on.

Everything that was added in the first patch is still there... (protect ball animations, more interceptions and bad passes into the paint, etc)

It does feel like it has had some tweaking. Feels smoother.

Someone already mentioned it feeling somewhere between the release and the first patch. I'd have to agree with that. All the gameplay additions of the first patch and some of the fluidity of pre-patch restored.

As a person how really loved it out of the box, I'm pretty happy with it.

It is pretty much exactly what the first patch should have been. Bugs ironed out, gameplay additions given better fine tuning.

I know people would love more specifics on gameplay tweaks but nothing stands out as major changes.

As Blackflash said, it's got "minor gameplay tweaks". It's hard to be specific, I can only comment on how it feels. The same, only a little smoother.

Okay I've played a few more games and what I realized i'm not seeing is all the annoying elbow blocks that plagued the game. it took me a while to realize it but when I did I was like oh yeah I really didn't get a whole lot of that.

I wish they would say what they've add because i believe i'm seeing some new animations.... nothing crazy just subtle things that make sense and a few more dynamic commentary as well. Heard Kerr talking about something to do with my lakers team i hadn't heard before.

I going to say however much or little they did do I'm loving this game again. Is it perfect no but it Sim and it's fun= WIN!

Does this mean contact on drives is better because you're not getting sucked into contact animations as often?

I am also one who loved how the game played out of the box. Sounds like the game I've been waiting for with player lock and manual post intact. Can't wait to get the patch for the ps3 now!

The 3 balls that get counted as 2s has been in LIVE for ages now...it's definitely nothing to do with the latest patch. Sometimes you can hit a 3 ball whilst out of bounds also.

Has there been an "official" list of what has been patched? If not - can we please have one? Pretty please?

                            *UPDATE*

Just saw the list on PastaPadre. Never mind.

Yes from my experience you are no longer sucked into the driving offensive player. I agree with the notion that it's what the first patch should have been. Though I still like the game better out of the box than with this patch at this point it seems to be a reasonable compromise between that and the almost auto D that some have requested. You still have to play D yourself but it's not like doing it on skates!

Also driving to the basket on offense is better. What I mean it's easier w/out all the unrealistic contact but you still don't necessarily score easy. I can't explain it but to me it just makes more sense, I can get to the basket but unless I do it properly (proper angles, proper player, and proper situation) I'll just miss or get blocked.

In my book Live 10 out of the box was an 8.6 to 9.1 rated game with this patch (so far) it's l 8.2 to 8.7 so overall not bad. As an indication of my standards out of the box with a manual post up button and players that stay in bounds would have gotten a 9.3 from me and patch #2 dropped it to 7.5 to 7.7

So just to clarify, both the CPU and the user seem to get "sucked into the D" less when driving? Is it completely gone (wishful thinking I'm sure)?
