To be fair i maybe a tad biased but its a million times better then "the other game's" Association/dynasty mode. The other game has the stupidest cpu trading logic i've seen in any sports game. NBA Live 10 franchise mode: 9/10, 2k10's crappy non-sensical bugged up franchise mode: 2/10 (if it wasnt for the amount of features i would quite happily score 2k10: 0/10) the cpu trade logic in 2k is such a massive, huge, gigantic screw up!!!!
This just may be the most biased post iv'e ever seen in my 21 years of living. To say that 2K's dynasty mode is a 2/10?

While yes the CPU trade logic is a bit ridiculous, it can easily be fixed by only turning on CPU trades for the month of Feb. since thats when most trades in the NBA happen anyway.

But the fact that they have player roles, team chemistry, the NBDL, 10 day contracts, true to life salary cap and rules, free agency contracts which include team and player options, no trade clauses and things like that.

You can import real life draft classes, player progression is out of this world with player tendencies changing with age. For example as LeBron gets older and slower, he will change his game from driving and dunking to a more pull up isolation jump shot style.

The NBA Today is simply amazing, commentators delivering news from around the NBA as your season goes on, updating you on playoff races, trades, points scored the night before, you can't go wrong with 2K's association mode.

Gameplay on the other hand is a different story.

Player roles are null and void in 2k10 if you were unfortunate enough to download the 2nd patch......ever heard of Shaq attempting 8+ 3pt shots in a game.....ever????? You have to turn player roles off to get around this glitch...also you might want to read my thread in the 2k section "Noob to association mode...." not only is the D-League screwed up but so are the free agent contracts, oh and all the Amazing presentation rubbish will be lost if you run your own pre-draft workouts towards the end of the season.
Incidentally i did go back to 2k9, got an updated 2009/10 roster, a decent slider set straight away and enjoyed that a lot more then 2k10...but Live 10 rules for me this year. Sorry

Well not only is the D-Leauge problem, and the contracts fixed with the patch. I'm pretty sure they also fixed the pre-draft workout bug too. The 3-PT big man bug does kill a lot. I guess it's a pick your poison when it comes to player roles.

But even with all those problems (Which have been fixed minus one you mentioned). Live has the most generic out of date dynasty mode known to man. It's the same basic thing every off-season. Terribly boring draft, boring FA, the CPU re-signs all your players even if you dont want them to.. And player progression is damn near non-existant.

Not saying you should praise 2K10 and hate Live. Because to be fair Live is better on the court this year, by a mile. 2K has way too many gameplay problems to even become a good basketball sim. But when it comes to dynasty mode, even with all of 2k's former problems, it still beats live

Has it been confirmed that the d-league player signing & free agent contract glitches have been fixed? Also has the duplicate player glitch/bug been fixed by patch 2 aswell? I'm not trying to start an argument or be a smug b@stard , i genuinly want to know cos if they have i might pick up 2k10 again for a short spell?

Re: Offline Dynasty mode: your review please

Dynasty Mode is functional. It doesnt have a lot of sizzle, but the basics are all there.

The trade logic is absurd though. I would recommend turning trades off until a few days before the trade deadline and in the off season.

            otherwise all hell breaks loose.

Honetly, Ive spent more time with Dynamic Season. I like the idea of scripting my own little twists in the NBA season, as the real one is going, and playing the interesting matchups, and trying to revrse the fate of teams who suffered a tough L.

I do a fantasy draft dynasty, and Ive had fun it, but I find dynamic season, much more interesting.

Re: Offline Dynasty mode: your review please

Dynasty Mode has flaws. One of them is player salary. It is annoying to me.

As a Knicks fan aiming 2010, I have to say "Thanks EA," cause Jefferey got only one year contract!

But wtf is this? Bender has got 2 year contract. 7mil per year. Total 14mils!!! They ruin my Dynasty.

Yeah man it's all been fixed. And if you mean the my player duplicate player bug, that was fixed in patch one. All the details are over on the 2k sports forums if ya need them.

Re: Offline Dynasty mode: your review please

Thanks for all the response guys! I was pretty much set on getting NBA 2k10 (tomorrow)...but the patch #2 for that game is really starting to scare me off. So I've been revisiting this forum just to make sure I am making the right decision on which NBA game to commit to. A couple more questions i have about Live's dynasty mode....

1 - I know there aren't any in-game injuries, just during simmed games....but do we have an option to play a player even if he is hurt (depending on how severe the injury is)? And is there a ratings decrease if they are injured?

2 - How are the simmed stats? (league leaders, team stats etc..)

3 - Is there a year to year tracker (like a yearbook) that will show past champions, MVPs, Final MVPs, etc... for each year for those of us who play multiple seasons?

Thanks! This is really a tough decision! But I am definitely getting a game tomorrow cuz my wifey is out of town this weekend and that means gametime for me!!!
                  "Basketball is my favorite sport
I like the way they dribble up and down the court
Just like I'm the King on the microphone so is Dr. J and Moses Malone"

                    1. Dependant on the severity of the injury
                    2. Stats are whack but i choose to ignore them.
                    3. Yep there is a career tracker...for your dynasty anyhow not sure about other teams
