You'll have to remind where where I said that applied to Live 10 specifically compared to in general across all NBA games.

Although, given patch 1 screwed the game up and patch 2 came out when it did, from a late Sep release date, I'd say that is at least three months to get the game working and even after that, it's still broken.

I hope Live 11 doesn't require a game changing patch but I'll purchase in Jan of the following year just in case.

Exactly, back in the days, 05 was amazing, no need for patch, I was fcoused on editing the apperances of players and simply PLAY THE GAME, now, is all about getting the user to find problems in games, try to fix ourselves(sliders), and ask for patches, acutally, beg for patches!

One of the big things discussed regarding improved initiatives has been player ratings. I want to come up with a better mechanism for player ratings where your input drives this. One of the things I'm going to be looking into is having an explanation on how ratings work in the game. Having a better understanding as to what the ratings do in the game will give everyone a better idea of the proper ratings should be. I'm sure most of you have seen what Madden has done with their rookie ratings as it's a combination of dev and community input, this is what I want to do with NBA LIVE.

How would you like to see player ratings handled?

I honestly don't think the user should have too much influence on a lot of the ratings. I thought that was the point of the dynamic DNA - Synergy was feeding all of this and it was automated.

Player ratings from my understanding still play a role in the game although as you said synergy plays a significant role in driving gameplay. A topic that we can get into when I collect more info about this.

I think this would be a good idea, as it would allow gamers to inform EA when certain players are overpowered and have these players' ratings reduced to be more realistic. There are a lot of players in Live 10 (mo williams, daniel gibson, athony parker) who are just way too good at launching and making 3's. if the gamers could lobby the devs to reduce the ratings of certain overpowered players, it would make the game more realistic and less cheesy.

Though i agree with much that has been said in this thread concerning empty promises, i'm willing to give you guys another chance based on the solid effort put into live 10 that is not only appreciated by me, but the other 2 thousand people online i see on this game every day.

With that said, i appreciate you coming to us for ideas...but a lot of us feel like we are wasting our time because of the things we have asked for are yet to be included in the game. I will take your word though, and trust that the DEV teams goal is to make a game that us, the consumers, want.

As far as pre launch support goes, i think you guys did a phenomenal job last year with the almost-weekly blogs and interaction we received here. However, it seemed to disappear very quickly after launch. Me personally, i would like to see continued support up until the nba finals. The rest of the team can start working on the next live, but a couple people should still be updating the game (just minor stuff) until at least the nba year is over.

My biggest gripe with the support though is how certain aspects of the game werent touched after launch. Hairstyles for example, didn't change once. Dirk still has a shaved head in the game, i was led to believe DNA included visual updates also.

There was talk about lowering everybody's agility rating which really helped the game, but beyond that...nothing was done to fix the many player issues i saw on here. Daniel Gibson has been able to dominate nba live games all year because his shooting was not toned down. Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce got better, but guys like Mo, Gibson, Bibby, Fisher, all are able to still have 12-17 3pt performances which is why the number of online players have gone down.

Again, if we tell you these problems...we expect solutions or acknowledgement. Its led me to believe that the developers dont even play the game after its made

Create an in-game feedback mechanism:

1. I feel that any one that paid for the game should be able to speak their mind to a developer seeking their input vs. coming to a website where others can limit what and how you say what you are feeling.

2. You'd get a bigger cross section of feedback from people who actually play the game being they'd have to be in the game to give feedback plus all gamers don't come to these sites.

3. The dev's could actually solicit feedback in-game directly from the gamers along with setting up certain triggers that ask questions. For instance if a user lost a game to a CPU comeback it might trigger a question to pop-up: "do you feel cheated by the outcome of the game you just played... blah blah blah"

4. Naturally the user should have the option of turning such a thing off but I think it would give the gamer a much better voice as to what they see in the game.

Also a much more in-depth user manual would be helpful whether it be printed or on-disc. If dev's explained their design philosophy and recommended approach to various aspects of game play such as how to play D: we recommend you play on ball-D or we recommend you play the center and sag into the lane... Things like this along with detailed explanations of the ratings, sliders, and other adjustments would take out some of the frustration for gamers. With that approach when gamers do run into problems they're more likely to know how to address them vs. throwing there hands up and giving up on the game or having to spend two months experimenting trying to figure out what's the best thing to do.
