Re: Franchise Improvements?
I don't know, but just wanted to thank you for using a question mark in the thread title.
I'm expecting this year's NBA to be like NHL 07. Getting the framework in and that's about it. Next year will be all about revamping things like franchise mode. -
Re: Franchise Improvements?
I certainly, certainly hope that's not the case.Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
It's still fairly early... the game won't be going Gold until October. I expect any franchise stuff to be unveiled as late as a month before release.
That being said, it would be nice if there were some decent improvements this year, even though the gameplay seems to be taking a lot of EA Vancouver's resources.Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
They really need to do something about the bland franchise mode. They dnt get the same excuse 2 years in a row man..."I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life
Look behind you, I'm bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I'm fast, dudes can't get past my past
How they supposed to deal with my perfect present?"Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
This is a must for me to purchase this year. With what 2k has done with dynasty mode it is about time for a upgrade form EA. I enjoyed Live gameplay over 2k this past year and traded in 2k, but I won't even purchase Elite without a major upgrade to dynasty mode this year.Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
I'm a huge Franchise-nerd myself. But if I'm being practical, my only request is to allow for 29, or 58 game seasons. I really don't like to sim my games, and 82 is just too many to play. I believe even Live 2000 had this. I know 2003 did. And my memory is foggy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Live 95 did too.
I like to go through a few seasons, draft a few rookies, make a few off season deals, see things progress over the years... To me, that's where a lot of the mode's fun is, and a 29 game season really helps that. I'm a gamer but I can't invest 250+ games worth of hours to see a Franchise develop haha, I'd have to quit my day job
I may be in the minority, but I know there's got to be a fair % of players who prefer shorter seasons.Comment

Last year I bought 2k first simply because they have the ability to play the shorter season, but then a couple of weeks later I went and bought Live. It was frustrating because I wanted to play a season in Live, but just couldn't force myself to sim games. This really limited how long Live was in my ps3.
This year I will not buy Live if they don't have a shorter season....The game just becomes to stale playing "play now" games. If a loved one is expecting a baby or just had one, please read about Craniosynostosis. It is a common birth defect that can sometimes be overlooked by doctors.

The dynamic season last year was lame too.Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
I feel that if we made a thread on having a shorter season in Live that we would find alot of people that want to play a shorter season. It is a unique sport in that all the "important" stats are tracked as what is done per game. Rebounds/game, points, assists, blocks, turnovers, etc. This is so different the football and baseball where the stats are tracked by season totals, example, 40 homeruns (instead of .25 homeruns/game) 1600 yards rushing, 3500yards passing etc.If a loved one is expecting a baby or just had one, please read about Craniosynostosis. Re: Franchise Improvements?
Good points even though I am more of a simmer but let's not give them an out if they were to ad this seeing that we were hit with a next year things will be better even though the team switched I am through waiting for them to fix a 5 year problem. (watches as my opinion falls on deaf ears)Comment

5 yrs and counting. imo 05 was their peak game .nothing they have put out on 360/ps3 has been quality . improvement from the pile of poo that was 07, yes, but that still puts them years away from the competition.Comment

Re: Franchise Improvements?
I'm almost the same. I don't even touch Franchise in any game. It doesn't appeal to me. I prefer playing with realistic rosters and I don't like simming, and like you said 82 games is too much. I like to play a single shortened season, and then move on to another team.
The dynamic season last year was lame too.
The best I can do is control all teams and make the trades happen myself, but this doesn't do the ratings updates or add any of the additional players that are going to pop up during a real season.
I know there must be so many reasons this can't work, but if ANY game came up with a way to make this happen... well... it would instantly supplant CH2K8 as my all time fav.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
