Wrong. At the early community event, they showed us some commentary where all three of them were talking back and forth, even interrupting each other. It was a funny outtake, so I am not sure if it will be in the game.

well I hope that I am wrong but it sound like they were not in the same room recording.

I was hoping for a more conversational feel with the potential that comes with a 3-man team. But it was clear it was short generic sound bytes. And because they were reading it, Van Gundy didn't come through with his energy and franticness AT ALL. Mike Breen should have been asking the others questions and responses to get things feeling more natural and contextual. It was just plain bad.

commentary is horrible because there is zero hype while they are commenting on the game. everyone sounds high off weed.

Usually the first year of getting a new broadcast team commentary takes a hit. New lines being made, then they have to get the people used to commentating for a video game instead of a live action game, and reading from a script makes it less polished than normal. Just my 2 cents not saying I am right but that's what I think as to why commentary isn't stellar

i loved the choice of announcers (van gundy is one of my favorites), but i feel like they really wasted this team. with dynamic commentary on the scene, the stuff in Elite really isn't stacking up. van gundy/jackson implanted into the other game would be great, especially when they break off into side conversations

The commentary wasn't great, but not bad either. I liked the presentation.

What makes this commentary trio so good is the funny banter, Van Gundy's quirkiness and how they aren't afraid to take hard line stances on certain topics.

Only Van Gundy and Jackson do that, Mike Breen is ALWAYS on the referee and the rulesbooks side when it comes to calls

After watching the second vid Breen is worse than I initially thought. I was kinda wishing I could turn him off and leave Jackson/Van Gundy.

Does EA have any sports game with good commentary? Madden and NCAA Football have been bad on this generation of consoles. NCAA Basketball, even with the addition of Gus Johnson in its final year, was below average. Live was never great. I haven't played NHL and only played the demo of FIFA to try to get a feel for RTP.

Seeing that it's average at best in all their sports games I don't think it's something EA spends time/resources on because they don't feel it sells units. Which is fine by me, I always turn off the commentary in sports games anyway - outside of The Show because baseball is so boring and I need the commentary to keep my attention.

2010 Fifa World Cup commentary was good in my opinion.

I want to be mad at him saying it when the defender was specifically doing the hands up animation, but I thought about it and that's just realism.

I heard it both videos and I never need to hear it again. I really hope he does not say it for every 3, once a game is enough

i know. hearing him say that immediatly after the 3 was just weird.... usually he just says it during replays before a break
