probably the worst basketball game in history its like when i first popped NBA live 07 in and then punched myself in the face. this was a FAIL. give up ALL YOUR LICENSES EA, and hand them to 2k, because college hoops 2k8 is definitely better than wackass 2k10 and people are STILL playing All Pro football! oh and the 60 bucks i spent to get those 2010 roster updates uhh i mean Madden 11 id like that too.

One glaring problem with NBA Elite...

        ...2K are releasing NBA 2K11.

BUt thats the thing EA should've never changed the controls to begin with why changed somethings that theres nothing wrong with. If it ain't broke don't fix it but you can always refine it make it better but do scrap it and thats where they messed up.

            Keep criticism constructive.

            Leave 2k out of this.

            Post only impressions.

FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A BAN. LAST WARNING

I LOVE the control I have..absolutely love it.

The gameplay on the surface, reminds me so much of NBA Live 2005 (The best Live of all time IMO)..

Unfortunately, to be fair and objective..as much as I have had love for Live over the years..I dont know how much value for $$ the game is going to give me long term...I dont want to run ranked games all of the time..I want to play in leagues. How is all of this stuff going to mesh together with franchise mode?

I like what goes on, on the court itself: Good collision detection, excellent sound and arena atmosphere, a great playcalling system, good court spacing and half court tempo, good on ball D, good help defense.

What I dont see is a lot of flair, and life.

The players, referees, bench, coaches, cheerleaders are just there to be there.

ITs hard to put into words. It looks like basketball, plays like basketball, but it doesnt have the personality....Does that make any sense to anyone?
This basically sums how I feel about the game... Not going to buy this one straight out but it will be on Gamefly for a while...

Its a going to be a nice change of pace to the other game. The control is fun and its going to take a while before I feel completely comfortable with everything.

I get afraid to drive the basket or shoot jumpers because of all the timing lol! But that's something I'll get down with time.

The game feels balanced, when I get scored on a lot of it is due to my mistakes. The simplicity of the game is both its best asset and its worst asset.

The NBA Live 09 and Live 10 demos, you felt like wow, this is a good game and has potential in the future, but with this game it's just not good basketball. CPU A.I. does not play like their NBA counterparts, everyone has the same exact movements in the game, how the ball travels in the air isn't realistic, CPU takes bad shots, the inside game needs a ton of work, shooting without looking at the basket? It's just not fluid at all, and maybe it's me on this one, but there's a lack of fast breaks, I want to push the ball down the court when I want to and make plays...the more I play it, the more I see that this is not an authentic basketball game. I really do wish EA brings back NBA Street, especially like the way it was on PS2...Games like that they really specialize in.

Apparently Andrew Bynum can dribble up the court with it would appear the same agility as Derek Fisher? I thought that was interesting. Also had a cute little animation where Jermaine O'neal took an awkward little post shot with his back completely turned to the basket looking directly at the opposite basket. That was cool too.

                  Sigh.

Wow alot of negativity in this thread... on a positive note I actually enjoy the demo, it's a nice change of pace from the other game. Granted I'm only getting the other game, but I'm definitely looking forward to this game in the upcoming years (please pleaseee stick it out with this 3 year plan).

i'll be completely honest this game is very good and can be even better, u really have the control to do anything u want. when i hit a 3 i actually find myself taunting the defender who was trying to guard me lol.

BUT, the thing that i HATE the most is when ur on a fast break and it doesnt seem like my user is sprinting, even with kobe hes just jogging with the ball this is just very annoying and makes the game feel very sluggish and just weird to watch.

Also the same idea, when im on defense and the CPU is on a fast break, it seems like i cant turn around and run to the basket to cut off a pass.

These are my only issues IM on the 360 btw if there is a trick plz tell.

Played the demo and have to say that I like the controls a lot. You can do amazing things with the sticks and it actually feels rewarding.

The main issue with this game are the graphics. They are a lot worse than Live 10, A LOT. Im wondering how the game would be seen with better graphics and animations and the new controls.

I just cant believe how EA could rebrand their nba game - put NBA Jam in it - and produce such bad graphics to throw off all the people interested in the new controls.

                        edit: espn team is amazing.

I really hope that the elite team can work on another installment for next year - foucs on the graphics and expand on the controls.

Okay the more i play it the more i like it, and like i said earlier i love the espn team with Jeff ,Mark and old boy. I even like how the game has this gritty look to it, almost like Madden with the're AFL games.......IDK ...it just seems the players move to fast at times were they shouldn't, and slow when they should be sprinting, getting back on D. I guess overall, Elite is not as fun to play as Live was. One thing i could always say about Live through the years was that it was fun. Not so much for Elite......hopefully with some patch work EA can make there game fun again.

This game makes me wonder why Kevin durant didn't join the dunk contest last year he flying from near the 3 point line. They don't have the new team logo for i think golden state. Not a single person in the crowd got up to use the bathroom they just kept standing swinging there flags. Bynum has all of a sudden become the anti christ..Illuminati in our video games lol. The contact happens where it should but other than that looks akward that animations in the key don't fit right at all

I think my two biggest gripe are the passing system and the player are all clones of each other. In basketball player authenticity is key probably more so than in any other sport. Until Elite starts getting this right this game will never have the replay vaule need to be successful.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

First off, I am an extreme 2k fan. Die Hard. I love it more than any video game I have ever played.

With that said, I was actually quite impressed with NBA elite 11 when I downloaded the demo. Sure the graphics don't seem to be the most visually stunning, but I like the idea of the new controls, and the jumpshot timing is an amazing idea that brings skill back to shooting in the EA basketball series. I wasnt to fond of the total control dribbling though, but with time I can understand how it would be fun.

It's really important that the EA sports branch continues to try out new things, and sticks with what works. Hopefully with some fine tuning, the elite series will grow to be very successful. The more successful elite gets, the more 2k has to step its game, and that way everybody is happy.

Also, just one thing that stood out the most as something that could use a little tuning:

The rim, and how the ball always seems to cash out all net, or maybe slightly grazing the rim. Would be cooler to see it mixed up a little bit, but maybe that has to do with jumpshot timing etc.

No turbo. It's kind of a cool idea, but at the same time, it was frustrating when I felt I had certain players beat...but couldn't sprint past them, and it didnt seem that my player had any thing automatically triggering him to go faster.

But in all, nice demo...and nice to see EA experimenting with some new stuff.
