Stepsix you posted that. I seriously just blank stared at the screen for a second. Rondo, Kobe, Lebron, Durant and many many more players in the NBA can get a step on a defender no matter what hand the ball is in.....

Just out of curiosity, did anyone tried the demo before release for DL, and if so, how come that Jesus gets looked over?

You can't get a first step to the left if the ball is in your right hand. You have to cross over.

That's what he is referring to.

What you're claiming isn't natural and NO basketball player even tries to do that, except kids in CYO before they learn how to dribble.

It's a bug in a demo. While it's pretty funny, get over it.

This isn't the first demo to have a bug, and it won't be the last.

Ohhh alright, that's what I was thinking, that if it's in your left you cross it to the right and step and vice versa. I was thinking something else there.

Yeah, and it's really odd having to do that in game now.

You want to go left, not worry about going left and making sure YOU do it. We've always had games do it automatically, if it even was taken into consideration.

I would compare it to football - when you're running down the sideline you're taught to move the ball to the sideline hand in case of a fumble/strip. Protect the ball.

Same concept here, but it doesn't seem to be translating well to the masses. Something to think about... but their entire scheme doesn't work/make sense if you don't force the user to account for it themselves.

Did I download a time machine and went back to the year 2000. I cant believe they are actually going to put this game out. This game is strait horrible, no wonder they are giving away NBA Jam for free.

I think the NBA Jam they're giving the code for isn't even the full game just 3 modes....can someone confirm?

Got my last post deleted here's a new try. my impressions
- commentary - i like it
- graphics - imo terrible, remind me of ps2
- realism - i did witness many highly unrealistic stuff, some were almost cartoon like, dont like it
- shooting - looks jerky
- animations - i heard the term 'mid air convulsions' somewhere, all those bumps are weird, unnatural and a turn off
- movement - i miss the turbo, overall not impressed, felt like ice skating on occasions - missing footplanting
- controls - scheme not the best, responsivness - laggy, right stick - overused
overall verdict - a drastic downgrade in comp. with 10, felt like a stripped down 10 with bad graphics
will i buy it based on demo - not anymore
hoping for a nba jam on ps store, because it would be sad to miss nn jam because its trapped in this game

Pared, I agree 100% and I think alot of the negative feed back from player movement and lack of first step speed is that people are not taking the time to learn the controls and how to use the left and right sticks in conjunction with each other. I have been playing various modes of the demo non stop for the last four hours and I must say this game gets more impressive by the minute. One other thing to everyone out there...THIS IS A DEMO!!! Things will get fixed with patches( like EA always does) and I'm sure some of the presentation things are being held back a little. Give it time and take the time to learn to play the game. I think both B-Ball games will get equal amount of PT at my house this year...And then through in JAM...WOW! a fun winter in my house this year. MY WIFE IS GONNA KILL ME.

wow, this is terrible.......only positive in this is the commentary, graphics are a mix of last and next gen, player movement is terrible....ppls sig shot are WAY off and that no turbo irks me....loved the ESPN presentation tho

Even after spending time with the controls, you can't excuse the movement going on by the other CPU controlled players on the court.

That's where the gameplay fails bigtime. The game is trying to do everything it did well last year but it is struggling within the confines of the new tech. implemented.

They needed more time and more testing/feedback from guys that see this stuff. There's no excuse for the 5 on 5 gameplay to be where it is after last year.

I agree with you on the controls. Lots of guys are not taking the time. I see scenarios where they rush through and just go straight to the 5 on 5. But this is what people want - an NBA simulation.

The way players move now is just... horrid.

been playing all evening..and it is getting better & better the more comfy i get with the controls, and am able to flow with the game, rather then think about what i am doing.

calling plays helps a ton in getting you space to do some moves in the post, out in the perimeter, and finding space for shots.

use those plays!

some of them are bit on the deliberate side though.

Passing is kind of tough for me still.

EA, I can see what you are envisioning.

Can you stick with it, and see it through please?
