I actually loved Live 06 my all time favorite game...

This year instead of trying to make it play SIM i'm going to edit it to play uptempo style. I'll have the other game for my SIM style experience since i play a lot vs the CPU

I'm going to tone down the verticals but tweak the fast break aspects of the game to make it play wide open style run and gun baby

The one thing I will do, is edit the default plays for each team, across the board.

If the CPU does get into a half court set, at least it will be to their top 3 scorers. There is no way the Celtics are ever running a play to run through Jermaine O'Niel, for example.

I Love Elite. I Like Controling. Hitting Game Winners ANd Knowing its kobe's ratings but my skill that made it. i think i can be a major player online with this system. day one pre-ordered.

Nah....Ill play it when my cousin picks it up dont get me wrong the games not that bad its just not worth 60 bucks but the online features do sound interesting.

It'll be a nice change of tempo from 2K. This will be an online only game for me. I have literally spent hours in the practice gym already trying out new moves, but I seriously can't stand playing games against the CPU. EASBA has me really excited.

I'd also bet you haven't played the demo much...I thought it sucked at first but I'm enjoying it more and more now that I have the controls figured out...

On the 1 hand, 2K seems to be the best NBA game ever made in the traditional style; the definitive game before the world moves on to new directions. Yet, 2K controls suck. And for all the love 2K11 has for its animations, Elite looks better sometimes.

Example:

Walking animations when not "in-game" (like time outs, or end of quarter). Elite looks like the players are walking, 2K looks robotic and jerky, and changes in direction aren't smooth.

Elite face models might be matte but still looks slightly better than the 2K faces. Kobe looks like an alien in 2k11. And the facial animations in 2K are horrific.

Elite is more fun, but so rough that it is hard justifying a purchase.

Do I need an NBA game? If I HAVE to get a sports game, I can get FIFA. Or even NHL. All of which are excellent renditions of their respective genres.

So, I am still undecided. I know I am tempted by Elite in terms of fun, and tempted by 2k11 in terms of significance. But I am sold on neither.

I guess we'll see how the net codes are for these games, and how the game modes turn out"

gotta disagree on the bold sections. competition controls for 11 are much improved over previous years.

many here stating not feeling controls of elite so much. passing horrible. cant get by the defenders because of glue defense. feels sluggish.

faces? see kg in elite. looking scary. but faces can be subjective.

more fun? elite, imo, uuuhhh no.

oh.....because some of us are basketball junkies

or in my case a basketball junkie and fan boi....an unhappy fan boi but still a fan boi none the least

i'm as dissapointed as the next guy with the direction/outcome of the game. But i did see some things after awhile in the demo that could make the game fun for me. It won't be SIM style fun like the other game but i think i can tweak it a little to play organized arcade style ball up and down/run and gun

ratings actually seperate the elite player from the scrubs. the "other game " is showing alot of control but its not simplified like Elites method. i like one but that this game just has the same type of control as lives earlier games. Physics are just contact animations it seems. I will buy it next year when the price is dropped a bit.

I'll pre-order it. It's a fantastic game even though it has unacceptable motions. Real-time ai, physics and new control give me super-fun and make me think it has great potential to be sort of a masterpiece series someday. I'm just hesitating now which one to buy between xbox360 and ps3 cause want more online people.

I'm conflicted but I'll probally still buy it. The demo has caused me to slow down on. I really, really like Live 10 and the thought of no EA hoops worth playing is hard for me to deal with.
No good reason except I always do. Last year I bought Live at realease and 2k a little latter for a change. I might just flip the order. Or I think I might do the Walmart preorder deal so the game is basically $40 bucks. I wonder how much I could sell the Jam code for on Ebay. If I can get Elite to net out at $20 then it would be worth it. Maybe.....

I was going to get this game early like i do every year but i changed my mind because i don't want to pay full price for mediocrity....... hopefully i can get it cheap by January.
