Considering that the game was 1 week from release, I find it hard to believe that EA didn't ship any of them out. You could be right though.

Madden always goes gold about 2.5 weeks before it ships. NBA Live used to go gold about a week before street release...one year it was only 4 days before street release! It doesn't take long to get the games made and shipped out. There are sites...where you can find details on when games go gold. Once they go gold they general find their way to the internet...nba elite hasn't found it's way to the internet. If it had been sent out to stores, it would already have found it's way onto the internet...and it hasn't.

I don't see why you guys are flipping out and think you might get a copy of this game. It never went gold. It never was packaged and shipped...EA knew they weren't shipping the game well before the day they publicly committed to it. Btw, anyone who has a non final build of the game (the guy who works for EA)...please shot me a PM. I'd like to borrow that for about 25 minutes if possible.

This is what i'm saying.. there is no way this game was in production..EA would have known prior to monday(maybe not the producers but someone in the EA empire would of made the call)

I would buy a copy also, but i'm just wondering a month ago there were videos with the EA dudes saying how the game was good with new controls and everything and now a week before release it's delayed.

DITTO. This game never went into production. If it did it would be coming out. EA has been shipping out crappy basketball games for years, I doubt that they finally grew a heart and started caring about the customer. Trust me, if copies were produced and shipped they would be sold. No way in hell EA is taking a hit like that in the pocket.

Conspiracy theory or not EA knew prior to this week that the game was being cancelled/delayed.. EA are all about the money,there is no way it went into production

Who knows how long they have been planning this. None of us is sitting in the meetings so we dont know for sure. Heck the devs didnt even know until they went into work the day it was delyayed so who are we to say that they have had this planned all along. Thats just another thing people talk about but they really have no clue about whats going on.

And i agree with you ea is about money but what business isnt. The whole industry is about money. Now the devs and some of the people within the company may not just be about the money. But the devs have even said it that they will have to buy back and destroy the games so that means production was already done. The games were already shipped. So they have to buy back all those games and lose money on the sales they would have gotten if it wasnt delayed. So at this moment ea has taken a loss for this.

No doubt they delayed it because of the backlash off the demo but i think they know it wasnt going to sell well so they knew it was in their best intrest to delay it make it better then release at a later date whenever that is and hopefully gain more customers

I wish EA luck though, personally I think they should just come back with Elite 12 in the fall. If the game does come out in March though, what does that mean for Elite 12? I wonder how that's going to work. The future is definitely going to be interesting.

I feel the same way. On the plus side we'll have time to make it even better, but I do still think it was a great game that people would have appreciated.

That wasn't enough though, EA wants the relaunch to dominate and blow people away.

We clearly didn't accomplish that.

If we get enough time I know for sure we'll be able to accomplish that goal.

well, the confirms that nba elite 11 is canceled lol. No way that game can get a makeover in 12months.

Hell, might want to wait til nba elite 13 if its truly going to blow people away. Its a new project..I don't expect it to "blow" people away lol. Maybe like set the bar high as far as the way sports games are played.

But to blow away in year one? lol come on now.

it makes me feel great that they are holding it to high expectations though, very excited about the final outcome of the vision. Assuming, it isn't rebooted

I'm definitely hoping that some Elite 11 discs hit eBay. I loved the demo so much, that I'd be willing to purchase one for $100+.

If not, then I'm going to go with Live 10 because no matter how much I try forcing myself to get into the 2K series, I just can't. Boring as hell.

Actually a source of mine came through and he managed to nab me a one copy of Elite 11. I will have the game in my hands early next week and I will post pictures.

And to answer your question above, the fact that the game is not being released by EA makes it even more desirable for me. It's like being told that you can't have something.....which makes you want it even more!

Looking forward to see what could have been for Elite 11.
