Pehaps that has something to d with it, but dont they do the nhl games? If they had even mirroed some of the depth and options of the nhl series i think things would have been a lot better. To many years nhl has had options were i thought now why couldnt they do that in live...

Live has fell off since the PS2. SO I agree with some of your statments. I dont have a clue as to why Live turned into such a highlight fest since the Ps2. But the thing that alot of ppl pointed out to me last year, was that Live has always been a bit of a highlihgt fest. Its nevver been completley sim ever since the first one in 95.

So why did 2001, 2002, and 2003 feel so arcadish and underachieved. Competition is my reason. Ever since 2K has came out, Live has in second place in regards to be sim. 2Ks franchise was more detailed, they've always took a more serious approach to realism than EA. And nobody would of noticed that unless 2K came out. If it was still Shootout and Live, nobody would even notice or care how Lives gameplay is. We would still be declaring Live as the King of basketball sims.

But honestly, I dont know why Live fell off so hard. I feel that NHL and Fifa fell off also because the comps games were just better. Madden has always been Madden but Live, NHL and Fifa have always been EAs' red headed step children. IMO of course.

Live was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE the first year on PS1 and it wasn't ever descent until last year!
Ofcourse the old sega's was great, but transition always hinder EA sports. NFL 2K spanked
                  Maddens debut on PS 2.

Back to that Live PS1 game good Lord that game was bad anybody remember it?
I bought "In the zone" at the launch year of PS1.

Yea, In the Zone was a nice change of pace. But I was still a EA fanboi backthen.

One of the first games I played on PS1 was Live 96. It was good for a while but the sliding players, the beautiful courts mixed with the pixelated players and the awkward floating dunks and lay ups killed that game. It played like Live 95 but had better and more realistic courts.

97 was a step in the right direction. Its the first time they started adding player faces and body sizes and the full move to 3D. 98 got a little better. 99 was just a roster update and 2000 I heard was the best one but thats when I was in my non-video gaming dark ages so I did'nt get a chance to really play that one but I still owned it.

Then Ps2 came and everything just got worse.

Thats what i mean how did we lose our way? In the absence of greatness people will accept mediocrity as though it was greatness and i think thats what we have on our hands now. B-Ball is my first true love, i play it, i eat it, i love it. I just hate to see what we have been reduced to. There is a reason a online live leauges dont work, the prodcut doesnt have the depth top carry it for months up on months. This year they seem to be improving but they give us something and take something else away (multiuser franchise) Its like a oxymorone give but take all at once. Its like we are given these great rings of power to have fun with and enjoy.. but we were all of us decived..Cause EA forged a magical ring of power and it poured its greed and malice into it. and with it, it teased us.One ring to rule us all and in the darkness take our money. Ok its been a long day maybe thats a bit much but you get the picture
