Where does EA SPORTS' NBA Sim title need to go to compete?

Although not announced, assuming that EA is indeed working on an NBA sim title for 2013, what do you think the game has to do to compete with NBA 2K?

Is there anything the title could do differently to separate itself?

Just curious as to what everyone would want to see.

    go college-

complete editability - with awesome CAP features, (get the community involved in creating players(import real faces in),arenas, coaches- coach abilities should make a difference, shoes, tats, hair, goggles -all that crap that everybody wants to create, classic teams as unlockables(fully editable)

good solid, realistic game play, good graphics (make them move human, not typical ea movement - with tons of body types to choose from), awesome recruiting., coach mode, online

get the game up and running a couple years. year 3 come out with nba and ability to import those college players in.

Focus on Association Mode because 2K drops the ball with it.

Kick 2k right in the gonads, by delivering every online mode that 2K has ever produced (including the ones that 2K now neglect) with EA's trusted online capability. Just make a NBA Live '11' with the aforementioned features. I feel that would generate a lot of sales.

Start off from their NBA Live 10 where was Mike Wang leading them to the right direction. They need to keep it straight basketball (no NBA JAM stuff in it please) and work on their graphics, animations and more post moves!!!

in all honesty I doubt we'd see another NBA title from EA until 2014-2015

anyone who thinks EA can compete with NBA2K's reign right now is just delusional

killed last year, skipped this year completely, 2013 still dead

probably 2014-2015, realistically speaking is when you'll see another nba product

that's how dominant NBA2K has become without using exclusivity rights

all they need it to have motion capturing for animations instead of that robotic stuff they use.

                  fix player faces

more ratings that affect gameplay like hustle etc

online LEAGUES that work out of the box.

real player releases that need to be practiced to be profecient. ( 2k recycles their releases every year and now we have 2k9 releases in 2k12)

                  real foot movement without sliding

                  stable online modes

steal the crew, MP, and other modes 2k uses and make them 10X better.

EA has all the $$$$ and resources, now they just need the talent to make the game. I hope

last thing call the game NBA LIVE 13

                    This pretty much covers it.

Maybe try to get the rights to Euroleague players as well(free agency/draft etc)

Re: Where does EA SPORTS' NBA Sim title need to go to compete?

For me EA has to get rid of the Goofyness that has plagued past versions of there B-ball titles. So many times there are instances where it it didn't even look like basketball as far as some of the movement was concerned.

Past version also always seemed to to be PG dominated. You could take a lowly rated PG and he would take the majority of the cpu shots even though in real-life he might have been the last offensive option even after tweaking.

Just no excuse this time around for EA, none of the freezing bs that seems to find its way into there products, no dunking from behind/through the backboard. How about sliders with actual numbers 0-100 and not 100 clicks crap.

This year I have made a vow to myself to make solid gaming purchases and to not be so antsy if its not a co. that has a SOLID past and going this route has netted me some solid purchases Skyrim/Nba2K12 which some will debate but its a helluva game imo, BF3, Batman AC.

I normally would by EA's product day 1 or earlier but not this game. Gotta know for sure I'm getting my $$$$ worth before I buy this game especially after the NCAA 10 MESS

First off, I have been a 2k lover/live ***** since returning to gameplay in 2008 from the dreamcast days. But hear me out...because those days may be numbered. It almost kills me to say this, but I am willing to see what ea has to offer when they decide to get the project moving.

Look, im not saying that EA cant do it, because I am sure that they can. But they need to put in the work, and change the game style completely to make things more realistic.

After improving the gameplay, they need to make sure that all aspects of the online features are in working order. in addition to making sure that all major user groups are addressed. ( i.e. - league players, " my player " type players, " team up " players, etc. ) Be aware of making a 2k mistake of putting all the attention on one feature/group and neglecting another.

Finally, they need to make sure that the online interaction is as good as madden, if not better (...for those of you who do not like madden. lol )

This last point is crucial. 2k has simply dropped the ball. The game is an excellent one as always.. however, people no longer play the game by themselves or with friends at home. ONLINE INTERACTIVITY and the continuous ability to use this feature smoothly is an absolute MUST.

I could name the numerous 2k mistakes, but I wont. I will simply stick with the most important one, which is online interaction. Waiting for 2+ months to play the game as it should be is unacceptable, and this has been a 2k m.o. for the past 3 seasons.

                          my two cents

i'm with you on this. I've been buying 2k since what..2k5? And now i'm kind of fed up with the bs. I know, you could say , then don't buy it. But i'm not sure why 2k releases a game with so many problems. And they don't own up to em either. I'm excited for something new, thats why im so excited for EA's game

A fresh take on association mode that is more dynamic or engaging would go a long way for me.
