Live 2004 = Best $50 I've spent in months. Use sliders people.

I'll admnit I was a little worried after reading about all the slowdown, but when I got it home I found that it played great. A little stutter, but no big deal. People make the biggest deal about everything. All I really wanted out of this year's version was the ability to adjust the game speed as last years was too fast. I got that and a whole lot more, so I'm happy. This game is very addicting.

I am enjoying it quite a bit. I adjusted the sliders a bit last night, did some rostder transactions to get it up to date, and played about 5 games. It was a lot of fun. And that is the key for me, it was fun.

All of my games were close. Both teams had runs of some sortduring the game. I had good blocks, good rebounds, good plays, open threes when I moved the ball right, and a lot of intersting action. It played like a fun and realistic game of basketball. The scores were good and competative, the percentages felt right, and the players played like themselves.

The key to me liking this game was that I was caught up in the game the entire time. I didn't get bored, or wish that it would hurry up and gget to the end. I was never clearly dominating the other team, and I enjoyed that. It was competative.

I tested the Free Agent bug and found that big names only came up occasionally. Iverson only came up once and the biggest free Agent the first year was K-Mart. He was signed by Portland after 2 games and resigned with them later. If you just wait a week into the season, most of the big names are taken. Annoying, but not a gamekiller as so many would tell you.

I haven't bought an NBA Live game during this generation. I have purchased every 2K game since the Dreamcast. I can't really tell you what made me get it this year, but I definately like it a lot.

Actually, I can tell you what made me buy it. NHL 2004. I bought ESPN NHL and was tired of the super goalie and scoring only on one-timers. So I bought NHL 2004, tweaked the sliders, and found and incredibly fun, realistic, and enjoyable game of hockey. Now, I can't quit playing it. SO, I figured I would see if NBA Live could do the same thing for me, and it has.
