It is not a rationalization, you must have missed the part that I love the game so far.

The reason that I mentioned "not being able to return the game" is because I don't understand the point of this thread. There are no stores in my area that accept returns of opened games. That was last year. People that took advanatge of a good thing have ruined it for all of us

I have decided not to buy Live this year. I refuse to pay for any video game, especially one as fast-paced as a basketball game, with slowdown and horrendous franchise bugs, not to mention players freezing at various times or not going for O-rebounds... Sounds to me like a lot of people here are liking it because they don't really have another choice. Not all of you, but definitely most.

So no, i'm not picking up Live. And don't bother saying "leave the forum" and "don't let the door hit you", because i already am and it won't.

                  Peace.

P.S. For those of you true gamers being honest, thank you for saving me 50 bucks.

Yeah, it sucks, you might get $25-30 trade these days. I returned NFL Fever 2004 and got $20. Lame. So, my take on this thread is to at least try to play the game some before returning it so you get something out of it. And yeah, people ruin things for everybody.

Re: So, who\'s returning the game?

I am on the fence at this point.

On one hand I love all the 10-man animation stuff because of the movement it creates- on the other hand it is already starting to feel a bit "canned". For example- I know when I see the double team animation start that, unless a pass is made, the ball will be knocked free in exactly 4 sec. And it looks the same every single time. It looks good, but the same. And I would say 50% of the time when the ball is knocked free neither of the defenders go for the ball. I have seen balls just rolling on the floor while the computer controlled stand about looking.

And on one hand the A.I. is very well done. CPU plays a tough game- but on the other hand the game flow suffers from minor but frequent slowdown. And the fact that getting a fast break going can be tough because often the players do stop to catch the pass. And is it me or are the CPU players able to get down court and back on defense a lot faster than Human controlled players? Anyway it can just feel jerky and uneven.

Then again the sound is amazing. The commentary and sound affects and music and crowd are just top notch. It adds a lot to gamne, makes it feel alive- and again on the other hand the graphics are less than I expected and does not come near the tapping visual power of the Xbox.

Like I said I am on the fence. I am having fun with it but not "crazy monkey super fun". It is a very good game, but the little issues that keep it from being a great game are so obvious that it is a bit frustrating.

I am going to play it right up until ESPN is released. If I am having fun with Live it stays, otherwise....
