Re: Here is my in-depth impression....

I played a game as the Knicks last night against the Kings (fyi, MSG looks really good!). I was able to get Allan Houston off to a hot start (16 points in the first half, 8 min qtrs), but Sacramento started running and pretty much blew me out in the second half. And for all the people who have been complaining about Mike Bibby's "unrealistic" rating, he "managed" to torch me for 24 with 8 assists.

Man... I just can't explain how deep this game is.

People complaing you can't fast break...and with the Cavs...their are times I push it, and can't get a break away. But once you start getting your flow...and you get momentum, I suddenly get a ton of fast break points. I had about 26 against the Heat. Once I got up big at the end of the game...it was like the Heat gave up...and all my dudes just broke away for garbage lay-ups.

It's as if the CPU can feel your strengths working, and opens up the game for you.

As for freestyle, it's perfect. I can work it with LeBron, and never feel like it's too easy. Every now and then, I am able to spin into the lane, jump stop, get the dunk and foul. But what makes it incredible, is it really feels like LeBron doing it. He's not too fast, or quick...more just great body control, and brilliant power. Completely different than freestyling with Ricky Davis.

And most of the time, the computer will play such tight defence, so you don't overuse the freestyle controls.

And damn...the off-ball movement. Sweeeeeet. I played the Knicks, and for the entire first quarter...Miles knew he could cut into the middle. Almost every time down the court, he screened for LeBron..the curled to the basket...LeBron hit him prefectly under the basket...and Miles scored.

But this doesn't happen all the time, nor every game. It's like Miles is REALLY thinking for himself.

The way the players role off screens...either for the jumper, or the basket...is just SICK.

I hear you - and you haven't even touched on the Post game (probably b/c you're playing with the Cavs - haha), but learning the strategy to watch for your big man sealing the defender down low and kicking it in to him at the right time is brilliant. When I play against a team with a weaker post player than mine, my guy constantly gets shoved out of position and I can't budge the opposing center so I have to rely on the inside-out perimeter game, but when I play against a team with weak post players, my C will seal the D, I pass it in and it's one back down and dunk. Then I think I've found my go-to play, but the next time down the weaker C fronts my post player and when I try to force the pass he picks it off.

The challenge on offense is frustrating at the best of times (on the higher skill levels) but it's sooooo worth it when you do score. I'm havng a hard time imagining ever being able to dominate this game on Superstar.
