Man, I rented Live 2004 from blockbuster for the PS2 (they didn't have the Xbox version) and the sliders are DEEP. I used Pared's sliders with a few adjustments, and I'm getting really great games. I'm definitely getting this game for the PC. I'm planning on getting ESPN NBA Basketball and ID 2004 for the XBox though. I'm just hoping ESPN NBA Basketball is a lot better than NBA 2k3 and plays a good game of basketball this time around.

Nothing wrong at all with liking more than one game. Too many people get caught up in thinking they have to have what some people refer as"the best game" instead realizing that there are many great games.

Nothing wrong at all with liking more than one game. Too many people get caught up in thinking they have to have what some people refer as"the best game" instead realizing that there are many great games.

I think you're right...it must be the ten man mo-cap! Live has a lot of other subtleties as well. If you play you notice they have "signature" body movements for people like Garnett, Sheed, Payton, Toine, FInley, etc... Overall it makes for a very realistic looking game. I also enjoy how Live makes you play defense. In ESPN, I feel like I'm just chasing a guy around? I kind of get bored on D? ESPN looks beautiful, but right away I knew something was off wheng Pau Gasol did the same reverse double pump jam on me four times! ESPN is solid (I'm not trying to bury it), but I gotta say, Live stepped it up this year...the Atmosphere is unmatchable!

I am gonna check and see if ESPN got Cherokee Parks body tattoo though...that would be pretty sweet

I agree. I haven't owned live in.....well since the 90's on PC. I have been playing VC bball every year since 2K on the Dreamcast. I HATED Live. Then this year out of nowhere BAM, I was reading Steve's impressions and checking the video, and I dunno you could just TELL that something was different about it. You could tell that you might actually get a good game of basketball out of it. Well I took a shot and bought it for Xbox and WOW! I absolutely love it. I can't explain why, but I just keep saying to myself at 1AM "One....more...game..." I really liked 2K3 last year, but after playing live this year....why bother? I only hope they can take the quantum leap with March Madness this year, cuz Sega's college bball owned last year.

It seems that since MVP baseball came out this year, that EA has shifted it's development more to a sim style then the wacky arcade junk that they were doing. I think this year is EA Sports' best year in a LONG time. I think we have Sega to thank for pushing them. But just when you think EA is slippin'.....BOOM! They come back harder, faster, better. Competitiion is good! I hope that VC and EA alsways push eachother to make better games for us! That's why I own both Madden AND ESPN football. Ok back to live now.....one more.....game...

I havent played ESPN yet but I rented Live and I couldnt deal with the frame rate drops at center court. For me its a game killer. I hope ESPN will run smoother

Dang, that seems to be the biggest draw back this year with Live. the slow downs, i wish everbody can play the game I'm playing because I don't experience it bad enough to say it's a gamekiller. the slowdowns have turn my friend away from the game too--which sucks that this is the reason but oh well. Hopefully, that will addressed next year.
