That was rude to call his shorty dumb, man. At least he is out there getting with some girls. I start the season when my team startes because i only play that days game the same day my team plays.. I think its fun. I have noticed alot of Texas kats in this forum, which is pretty cool because that was most certainly my fav spot to live. And for the record I enjoy both games, I just like Live more

If anything, I would say that I have an ESPN (Sega) bias. However, for MY gaming preferences, Live clearly and convincingly won the battle this year. Yes, I own both games, and can't find a reason to ever play 2K4 again.
I love the "Center Court" camera, the post game, the player movement, the player intros, the retro jersey selection, and the list goes on.
Agreed. This game is the G.O.A.T.
Next-gen hoops have FINALLY arrived. Let's hope baseball finally arrives next season....

I agree with alimo...the graphics on live totally kick ***...not photorealistic like 2k4 but surprisingly good...and the fact that the players are recognizable is really a kick...when my girlfriend saw me playing it the first time she was like "that guy looks just like gp"..I was just pushing the rock with him, and you couldn't see a number, and I play with names off...I was playing espn today and she didn't know I had it, and she was like whats wrong with that camera...why did you make all the guys buff...haha.

by the way, espn absolutely blows...for me at least. I feel totally ripped off and wish I could get my $50 back...

You guys are lying! The players in ESPN are not buff, or look like their on steroids...not this year! Everyone in the game is leaner, and have a more atheletic build. Heck I couldn't even recognize Webber at first, cuz I was so use to VC making him look like he was in the Mr. Universe competition.

I actually own both Live and ESPN, and I do think Live is the better game this year, but I had to comment on this since what at least 2 of you said about the player models in ESPN is false! Live has better off-ball movement, and play calling. The atmosphere of Live is 10 times better as well!

But if you're going to state something, please just stick to the facts! Thank you!

OMG...please...let's not turn this into a Live vs. ESPN thread...

Look, both games are good in their own respects. ESPN, I think is more about EYE CANDY...giving the consumer/gamer a better feel of basketball off the court. LIVE, is more about TASTING the CANDY....allowing the consumer/gamer a better feel of playing basketball.

I've been playing sports games since ....hmmm....forgot.... Recently, I usually just play a few games, sim a few there, get to the playoffs, play a few....Now, that I bought Live I've played every game of my franchise and the game hasn't left my XBOX since I recieved it through FEDEX.

Live is the king of the court this year. EA has improved live in a number of significant ways. Their low post game is the best I have ever seen. Free style has been modifyed to be more realistic. 10 man motion capture makes it so players are always moving not just standing around like last year. I have been a hardcore sega fan for the past 3 seasons. Last year I thought live was a joke. However this year live stepped it up and sega took a magor step back. Sega took out most of the things that made their game great. The low post moves dont exist. They do a stupid jump hook almost every time. Where are the big man dunks. I don't want to do reverse 180's with dekembe mutombo. Last year sega had this perfect. You could stand under the rim and power the ball through. Now on espn every thing is a highlight. The players still stand around on both ends of the floor. 24/7 mode is overhyped. All it is is playing lots of 1 on 1 games. The iso motion cannot compare to freestyle. Iso motion is not total control they just do a random cross over in the direction that you push. usualy getting called for a charge. also no espn nba crib no e-mail in franchise. espn is a huge dissapointment. The camera angles are horrible and cannot be modifyed. For realistic NBA basketball live is the way to go.
