Re: Nba offensive sets!! i found um
We (DK and I) tried making these alterations (Team strategy's) for a few teams last year with no luck. We edited a similar file but for some reason the changes never took effect within the game. The case could be different this year though. I will take a look.Comment

Calvenn, here's what I just tried. I played a game against the Lakers and they were running the triangle. Then I went into the teams.dbf file and changed the Prim_Off, Sec_Off, Alt_1, Alt_2, Alt_3, Alt_4 values for the Lakers to 184, which is a 1-4 offense play like Utah runs (I took the play number from their Prim_Off). I started another game and they were clearly not running the triangle any more. So maybe it works this year, and if so, you can get very detailed about a team's offensive strategy.
A couple of notes. Those are DBIV files. If you have the latest version of Excel, you can edit the values and still save the file as a DBIV file with the .dbf extension, so the proper file format is preserved. I'm not sure if you can do that with all versions of excel. Plus, if you're trying it with a saved franchise file and you're running XP, you have to go into the save directory under the NBALIVE2004 directory in your mydocuments folder--that's where the copy of teams.dbf that the franchise uses is stored. I started a new franchise, saved it, then edited the file. That way, if I screwed anything up, I could just delete the franchise and no harm done.
I'm looking forward to hearing if it works for you as well.Comment

Try changing the team plays on your console version, and save the settings. This is what I did, and you get a totally different feel in the game.Comment
