    contesting shots

can you guys tell me which way is the best to cause the cpu to miss more shots? is it better to jump with the guys or use the right thumbstick up to raise hands? i mean the manual says that that is to contest the shot but how effective is it?

I always jump at them. By the time I get to the shooter, he is in the air, so what will raising my hands do?

the reason i asked is because neither one seems to really work. i mean the sky hook is damn near money everytime for the cpu. as the game goes on i may miss some but the cpu makes em all.

i am slowly losing my patience. the bad thing is that i don't like espn at all.

I really like ESPN now. I hated it at first, but the more you play, the better it becomes.

Anyways, try adjusting the sliders, if its that bad. I really have no problems with jumpshots.

I find jumping is better for outside shots but putting your hands straight up seems to be more effective in the post. Could just be my imagination but that's what it seems like to me.

                            Re: contesting shots

usually if the big man has a good position inside, he will make just about every shot, so i dont really bother trying to contest the shot unless i have a pretty good shot blocker, if they're way down low, i usually double team and force them to pass or force them to take a bad shot..this usually works for me
