fatigue could play a part in it...also timing and distance, like if you try from half court they dont have a greater chance of catching it, and when you say they are uncontested do you mean no where is near the dunker?? b/c sometimes they miss if someone is near them but dont jump, or if someone is under the basket. Also depends on who you are throwing them to....I dont know of any really good dunkers on San Antonio..Duncan or Ginobli maybe. I wouldn't expect Bruce Bowen or Rasho to connect on many though.

Re: Does ANyone Else Miss ALOT Of Alley-Oops?
I play with the Bulls and at most I attempt 2 or 3 a game, I only attempt them on a fastbreak. I think it's a combination of the dunk rating, jump rating, fatigue, speed, and pass rating. With the Bulls, I can consistently lay down an alley-oop with Curry, while with Pip or Chandler they miss about 25% of the time, especially if Chandler goes for a layup. But sometimes I get ticked, because i have a guy wide open right at the basket and when I press the oop button, the PG slings it to somebody else. ehhh

Re: Does ANyone Else Miss ALOT Of Alley-Oops?
I was as well until....
I held the White button down longer. I release the white button a second after the dunk starts. If you just press the white button you'll miss it. Just like a jump shot, you relase the button at the top of your jump.
Try it out.Comment

I'll be damned. Sounds like it just might work. Currently I miss a LARGE majority of my alley-oops and only attempt them on open fast breaks.
Why in the hell would EA do this without notifying the user?
Oh, but if you had it on CPU shooting (which I do) I guess this wouldn't impact it...Comment

Sorry if this has been discussed before.
I find that I miss quite a few alley-oops per game and for the most part they are uncontested ones. Does fatique play a part in this or something? Thanks in advance for the info.

I guess my answer would be...WHY ARE YOU ATTEMPTING SO MANY ALLEY-OOPS PER GAME?

My question would be, how do you know he's attempting too many alley-oops when you have no clue how many he's attempting?

Simple. He used the words "a few", meaning around five. This seems like way too many alley-oops to be attempting, if his motivation is to achieve any sense of realism. If he had said "a couple", I probably wouldnt have even responded.
Players miss alley-oops all the time. We just dont see most of the misses because they never make the highlight reel.NBA 2K18 ratings for several seasons generated from advanced analytics using the SportsCrunch system:
