What did EA say in 2010 when that game got cancelled?? Had Kevin Currant looking like damn fool in those interviews knowing the game looked like a pile baby poop. Why release a game in beta only to lose money? Beta is not going to stand a chance with NBA2K13

Re: NBA Live 13 Will NOT be Shown Tomorrow, When Will It?
I cannot wait to see how the EA guys spin this one. 2K was gonna send some undercover guys to the event tomorrow to steal some more ideas. Eminem was supposed to EP Live but 2K found out and stole that idea so they had to go even more secret to save ideas. I don't know what it's gonna be this time, but I can't wait to see it.really tho u only need a month to market a game really.... honestly september will be cutting it close... but really tho i think silence is the best way to market this game. EA should only i mean only market the game when the game is ready 4 the community. Cuz that was that was the mistake ea made wit elite 11 there where hyping a product that clearly wasn't ready to be shown nor released. I believe EA not goin to show nba live 13 till they believe the game is ready to be shown to a community that ready don't believe in them. showing anything least then a soild product is stupid. But in Silence EA got the community attention regradless of the negative feedback it bring. But at the same time Support or haters both want to see NBA LIVE 13. I believe that the silence is a new market stragery. i could be wrong....but idkI'm really starting to think EA is pulling some Tom-foolery on us all. I've been thinking about that interesting supposed tweet a couple weeks ago from dude from EA saying they're doing something a bit unconventional for them wit marketing for game. Vagueness and smoke could very well be it.
Remember, 2k was known for being extremely quiet about their game until recent yrs.EA still has Madden to push and NHL..Once madden is released and they still haven't gave up any info on live then all the talk is warrant. We dont even know much about 2K besides j being the executive producer and guitar hero slam dunk contest. So just take it easy, calm down. I know EA has more on the line maybe that why they not rushing to show the game off yet. Just give them till september.I think I've figured it out...
D. Howard is the cover boy and they're waiting for him to decide... lol
Seriously now, the only plausible explanation I can find right now (and I'm trying really hard) is that they got LeBron (or any other guy playing in the Olympics) on the cover and they're waiting for him to be in this "big event".
They can throw LeBron saying "we're not gonna beat 2k in 1 year. Not in 1, not in 2, not in 3..." and then the words "3 YEAR PLAN" on a big screen... At this point, laugh at themselves can be a good start...Brilliant marketing by EA. There's absolutely no need to FEED the public right now by giving them any info about Live 13 in early August when the release date is still 2 months away. I'm sure they have an "ace" up their sleeve and when the time is right an announcement will be made. In the meantime, create "buzz" by keeping everyone guessing if or not the game will even be released and what exactly is being hidden.
Reverse marketing at it's finest and the masses are eating it up. This is getting better and better.
Again, THANK YOU EA!!!!Everyone needs to chill. We aren't buying this game tomorrow.
Live '13 is going to release, in my opinion. If it doesn't, EA is done with basketball on this generation of consoles.
We should be happy that these companies decide to even show us gameplay months before the game releases. If EA was to release a video tomorrow in one world, and released the same video 2 days before release in another world, would it really change your mind on buying or not?
Either way, some people will buy a game on ratings, some will buy it because of the name. I guarantee one person on OS is going to buy Live 13 if it releases and will have an opinion. No need to hit the panic button because personally, it's not important in my life, no game is.
When EA releases some videos or information it will be exciting, but until then, let's just stop speculating about delays or cancellations. When EA says they are canceling, it's done. We can speculate all we want, but it's just going to create frustration among posters.
Everyone is going to have mixed reactions on this game, no matter what. It happens for every game.
What people fail to realize is that EA said they are taking bits out of Elite, which is the physics and building on Live '10. If they can update Live '10 with the physics and better player movement, they could release a passable game.
I hope EA releases information soon because I'm excited to see what the competition is going to be like this year, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
Whatever happens, we'll have a decent game to fall back on in 2k13. It's not like football where if the games bad, we're doomed.
Relax and stay patient. Be happy EA isn't coming out saying they have huge announcements and crazy hype tactics. In my opinion, I'd rather have that than what 2k did with the Jay Z announcement, which has turned out to be a huge let down in my opinion.
EA will release information when they're ready. As for the game not being in a beta state yet, I hardly buy that. Many games are released as betas and have minimal problems. Many sports games are released sort of as a beta, like NCAA Football. Beta is just a term used as "pre-patched" in my opinion and less polished.
Big shout out to you guys. Thank you. This has been everything I hoped it would be. Keep it coming please.Comment

Seriously people need to chill out... All the previews have stated the graphics, controls and espn presentation look good. It's the animations and contextual stuff that needs work and there is still time.Comment

Yet they admitted to investing thousands of man hours on faces.
But animations and contextual "stuff" gets rushed at the backend.Comment

I got it figured out. T.I. is going to drop some more smash singles like "Whateva U Like", "Live Your Life", and "Dead and Gone" right before Sept 4th to save his album, Trouble Man.. Then EA is going to show the game and it will be the greatest game you ever saw, and the marketing scheme will be "You Thought We Were In Trouble". That's it Live executive produced by TIP.Comment

They should just release '05 with better textures and graphics. For the box art, photoshop a Knicks jersey on Melo. Put the files on a Blu-Ray disc, better yet... Strictly PSN store. Xbox marketplace $9.99 or free with the purchase of a Hornets Road gameComment

Looks like NBA Live 13 is going to be a digital release:
There has been a lot of speculation around NBA Live 13 given the actions of EA Sports. The game is being hidden right now and they are actively cultivating a perception that something is severely wrong with the title. That the discussion amongst consumers about Live 13 is trending towards whether it will even releaseComment

Maybe, just maybe the strategy is to keep quite, don't speak or say too much, take a modest approach and let the game speak for itself. The only problem is that their competitor 2k, which is already king when it comes to basketball games, has barely shown anything themselves. I'm thinking that 2k is just waiting for EA to make a move so that any kind of hype that Live can build, 2k will kill it once they show off their game.Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 Will NOT be Shown Tomorrow, When Will It?
the only way you can successfully market a game in a month is if the game is good..really good. The only thing i can think of is that EA is going with an opposite strategy than what they did with Elite. For Elite all they did was talk, saying things like "This game is going to be the evolution of basketball games", "There will be unprecedented control", "We're not just adding more animations (clearly taking shots at 2k) that lock you in and take away control, our system is organic and allows full control at all times". And then the demo dropped and it seemed like everything positive they had with Live10 (which is arguably the best live game of all time) was gone.

I have no clue why people keep saying this. 2K is not sitting around waiting for Live to do something to make a move. 2K is on they're normal marketing schedule. Show the game at E3, give a little taste, throughout June and July get the cover guys out there and make a few announcements or two with the majority of gameplay stuff and insights kicking up around Gamescom time. The King of the Genre is not going to sit around waiting for underlings before he goes about his business.Comment
