As for the on-ball defense interaction, the LIVE 10 ALSO had the same interaction 2k just introduced.. It is a game changer for nba 2k13 since 2k never had that defense, but it is basically just scrapping up the stuff from nba live 10 that worked very well.
    Right.. .Mike Wang copied himself

Exactly. It amazes me to see how many people forget it was Mike Wang who designed NBA Live 10. 2K stole nothing, Mike Wang simply put his own ideas into the game.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I think that's something people will regret saying. The way it looks, EA won't even be coming back at all, and if they do, they have no shot at catching 2k. Not being biased, that's just the truth.

If EA was confident in their game, we would've seen something by now.

As far as the Controls they were Mike Wang"s Idea. He worked on live 09 and 10 before returning to 2k sports. So in a way They were 2k's all along.

I hope Live comes out for the sake of competion, but with the physics bomb 2k just drop...... it ain't looking good for ea basketball.

You are right about that, but.. it was still in the NBA Live video game before.

Right-Stick Dribbling wasn't Mike's idea. It's been a signature feature for NBA Live since 04 when they introduced it. 2K has simply taken the base and re-named it.

Right stick Dribbling was in NBA Inside Drive back in the early 200's which Mike Wang worked on since people want to get technical

And however it is, it shouldnt matter... if it works in basketball it works

This is as dumb as saying someone stole the ability to shoot the ball or someone stole calling plays

Stated my last post wrong, I'm not making a point of saying who copied who or who did it first, but simply stating that Live 04 was the forerunner game to really push it as a big thing with all the moves you could do. It was a huge feature for them and they really pushed it back then. I couldn't care less who does this first what for each game. Just pointing it out.

PS... Do you know what year NBA Inside Drive introduced right-stick-dribbling? I used to play 02 and 03 ever day, but I can't remember that control scheme.

The point of 2k stealing ideas is confusing me. Game developers do it all the time. MLB the show has taken multiple things from past games. Classic pitching, timing hitting, analog fielding, analog hitting, it's the same thing and nothing gets brought up about that. Whatever makes the game run fluid and realistic is what's best.

I know they won't surpass NBA 2K overnight I just think NBA Live 13 will be a better product than people expect.

I think it's possible. However, the way EA is treating this from a marketing perspective, it's not looking good.

Wasnt so much rebutting you as I was piggy backing off of your post, but the more in depth of history on the controls was for the guy who wont stop talking about stealing controls

Cant remember if it was 2000 or 2001 or 2002

I know it was in 2002, its an alternate control

At that time they werent pumping up controls at all just basketball, which they focused on a more sim aspect than anyone bothered to at the time
