Thought I'd create a video with comparisons to Live 13 video released early....

Listen to my commentary and watch the gameplay, graphics, etc....And throw down your opinions and thoughts after you watch the whole video...

Good video but is it fair to compare Live 10 to a pre-alpha version of Live 13? There is no way that the Live 13 video that came out today is an up-to-date build.

Wow this literally makes Live 13 look like Live 04. No joke this game is simply beautiful and vibrant. Live 13 is so dull and depressing.

Didn't they take what was going to be Elite and turn it over to new developers in Tiburon? Wasn't the whole promise of Elite that the guy from NHL was going to work on basketball and work on delivering for Elite what they delivered for NHL?

That was my understanding, but if you are going to build off of what was Elite, why change studios? Not to mention that it is EA Tiburon, a studio that has done very little with NCAA and the NFL.

I watched the leaked footage, and I think it looks more like 09 than anything. Like you brought out here, Live 10 had some promise. Things were improving and it seemed like they were creating some momentum.

But right now all that we have is that leaked video, and it looks to be really reaching here. This whole scenario is very similar to Elite. The demo destroyed that game. The community hit it hard, and rightfully so. The current atmosphere for NBA basketball gaming allows multiple titles. That means EA can't just release a game with the NBA stamped on it and claim supremacy. There is a high standard in the NBA 2K series, making it really difficult for EA Sports to simply slap on the cover a popular player and call it greatness.

Yeah i missed out on this as well . I can't believe live really came out with this, even though i know it's a older build but still I'm just speechless . EA's marketing team has some damage control to do .

The game is a lost cause, they can use the pre-alpha build excuse but the character models themselves are outdated.

So who cares if they will be more polished in the final version, the entire engine is outdated. The players don't even have joints ! its like they are made out of clay.

The physics look worse than NBA Live 06 !

The point of the video, is what did you see in Live 10, that Live 13 could have built on and so forth...

NBA Live 10 was amazing. I think this is looking like 10.5, and the release we got was pre Alpha. I'm still optimistic, I kinda liked some of Live 13 and this forum is pretty biased for 2K (which is pretty reasonable) so I expected them to treat it like this.

Let me begin by saying thanks for the second post, I don't know what type of visuals you were expecting, but graphically Live's visuals including skin textures and shoes etc were far from being cartoon like.

The visuals were very high and very detailed even more than the competitions game of that year.

The whole physics of arcade like - This arcade vs. sim stuff is so biased. From a fan of basketball games and not companies. I will say either game can be played arcadish and either can be played sim.

Sim and Arcade are based off how you play the game, at a faster pace, run and gun.

Or a slower pace and run plays. Live 10 was easily a sim game, with sliders and difficulty settings. Not to mention had one of the best playbook options and settings than any other title this day.

Again that is a biased statement to call it arcade like - it was nothing of the sort. I can say the same thing about 2k10 with all the cheese in that title.

But I own both....My next video will illustrate sim versus arcade...

What you say is very incorrect about these threads and this overall site. If anything OS has spent years defending EA and giving them chance after chance to really boost this series.

Every year there is a different excuse on why it's not up to par, each community event they went and tried to give insight on how to improve it.

Live 10 was the first title where the community input was actually implemented into it's game and change during the development cycle. It was also the first title to be this impressive in the series. And even some of the 2k die-hard fans came into this thread and gave Live 10 it's props. And some even played it more than 2k10.

You have your right to be optimistic, but as a unbiased gamer, who has stood by EA each year and trying to hype them up. Live 10 was their last savior, everything since then is pure garbage.

And Live 13 looks worse than Elite 11, you can believe all that PR crap about alpha vs. beta vs. final....Even at alpha if true, there won't be enough time to get it out of this shape before a release.

Stop being band-wager of the company, and honestly let them know when something is wrong. If every piece of junk they produce is good enough and considered acceptable how do you ever plan on them improving?

I respectfully disagree with your sentiments on NBA Live 10 not being cartoonish and arcadey. Although for what its worth, Live 10 was a better basketball game than 2K10.

As 2k10 nailed the visual aspect (ever since 2k7, 2k has been the king in visuals) but completely failed with the gameplay. 2k10 was basically a game of who can score the most paint points in 20 minutes.

Years ago, I bet EA was OS' baby, but what have you done for me recently? The community, or erm, the newer members (like myself) dislike EA. And that's the majority. I am biased because I prefer Live 10 to 2K10/11, but that was just me. I switched to 2K on 11. I appreciate your insight. And no, Live 13 looks better then Elite, I'm not trying to be rude, but that's blasphemous. Elite looked like like the jerseys had a shade of black in them.
