the mode's goal is to be fun. Even if EA has a more in depth my player/superstar mode it will eventually wind up being streamlined.

folks tend to forget that the hard core sim gamers are not the majority; so alot of these comments on here tend to skew the numbers and opinions. the end result is folks on here wind up thinking that the actual "hardcore" sim gamer community is larger than it actually is.
all i want is options if i want to play through the summer league and training camp let me. it's as simple as that

For me it's vital. Whether I buy either or these games will depend on what's been added to each games BAP mode.

Live will obviously have a superstar mode and it will have the advantage of gameface so your player won't look the same even if you change everything on his face like 2k.

Yes, it really is. That and Association/Franchise mode. Just because you don't touch them doesn't mean anything. We are talking about majority.

If Live doesn't have a "My Player" Mode, I am pretty sure they won't be as successful as 2K. I am sure Live will have some type of "My Player" mode though because they was adding it in NBA Elite.

all i hope is they learn from 2k's mistakes, it should be similar to the ps2/xbox madden versions but that's wishful thinking

Superstar Mode is definitely needed, but Gameplay will dictate whether it will succeed. If gameplay is somewhat solid then by all means this should be in the game. I think it's safe to assume that Superstar mode will be in the game, along with EASBL. The only reason I say is because the previous cancelled NBA Live games had implications of both modes. If EASBL is implemented in the game in some type of way then I will be more than happy. Plus, EA Sports servers have been good to me and I've had little lag with opponents over the years.

I don't know if it is needed or not but I'm quite sure it will be there simply because there was going to be a mode like that called Become Legendary on Elite 11, at least the mode on Live 14 will be the same or better.

In case some don't remember what features the mode was going to have:

They definitely need some type of career mode. If it can be as good or surpass 2K's MyCareer, that's even better.

I really hope EA does something revolutionary and ditches skill points for a natural progressive system.

When I say natural progression I mean not starting out with a 50 vertical then ending up at 90. Nobody increases their verts that much. There should be little physical growth the entire mode. The majority of the growth should be experience followed by skills. Also those improvements should be based on how well you perform in games/scrimmages(efficiency, stats, following the gameplan, etc), practice(whatever drills performed benefits the attribute your working on) and some kind of off-season regime to improve certain physical aspect(if they want to allot skill points for off-season workouts I'm cool with that).

Until some pro sports game gets this right they will all be essential be flawed.
