My impressions are here:



When it's less zoomed in, 2k's models like like higher resolution versions of those they've had for years. The facial animations have taken leaps, and the jerseys are better animated, but no, I'm not as taken back by 2k's visuals as some of you obviously are. I suspect the games will appear similar graphically on an HDTV.

So you're saying aside from the faces everything else looks better because of the camera angles?

This game is a complete disgrace to basketball fans. How can people damage control this? You can tell from the trailer that BounceTek is SUPER overpowered. The point guards just blow right by the defenders. At the 0:29 clip, look at Stephon Curry's feet. What is he doing?!!??! In this man tap dancing??!!. Just look at the defenders feet while the ballhandler is dribbling. They are all flat footed, hunched over, tall and slender, and ice skating. The NBA is not going to be pleased after they watch the Youtube trailer. The video has more dislikes than likes. I was extremely hyped for this game, but I just canceled the pre-order. This looks more like an arcady type of game you just mess around with your friends. Someone posted that if Lives gameplay isn't 1000% this is going to be bad for EA. This video just ruined my Friday.

Stiff animations... Current gen graphics... Pretty much looks like a current gen game in every way possible.

i have always been a fan of NBA live, i think at its best (NBA LIVE 10) the in-game experience has been smoother then NBA 2K. That being said, obviously the track record makes you questions the quality of the product...and to that i say...lets wait and see.

in terms of the trailer, looks ok to me, maybe not real enough in terms of faces, skin, etc...but gameplay is the deciding factor for me and no one knows anything about either game in that department.

personally ill get both, but if someone decided not to get live based on the track record and the trailers i think that's fair too.

NBA 2K14 next-gen trailer blew me away. Didn't have that feeling after watching the NBA Live 14 trailer. Nothing about it looks next gen. Live 14 looks like a current gen game, whereas 2K14 really looks next gen. It looks ok, but as of right now, 2K14 has it beat by a mile.

I think the cinematic direction 2k was aiming for is obvious. The bulk of their video is slowed and extremely zoomed, while showing very little action beyond open lane dunks. The faces look amazing, but we wont be playing the game on angles that makes 2k's advance in facial animations as obvious and prominent as their trailer did.

In my opinion, it looks good, this looks like Live, moments like the Nash part looked bad, but overall, if the gameplay is good enough I'm not afraid to add $60.

Y'all keep complaining that it looks like Live 10, but no complaints that 2k14 looks like 2k10. Whatever, I prefer Live.
