theres no option for not sure have to see gameplay first in the poll. im a fan of competition but im not buying a game just to support competition. if it looks like it plays fundamental bball ill buy it. if it doesnt then my copy will stay in the store.

No I won't be buying. Why? Because Live hasn't been the game for me. I bought Live 06 for next-gen, and it just wasn't a good game. Every year ill download the demo, like every other game. None of them impressed me enough to spend $60. Finally Live 10 came out, and it was pretty ok. I didn't buy it, but I did rented it. Again it was an ok game, better than the rest though. Instead of EA building off of it, they decided to go in a different direction. We know how the next few years ended up. Now they have a new game that's only exclusive to the next-gen consoles. The lack of videos is horrible in my opinion. I think because of their history, EA has more to prove than 2k. I feel as though, they have not done enough.

HHG seems like a genuine dude with love for the industry. And Despite the odds against him suceeding in the gaming industry, he manages to get it done. HOWEVER, This guy is a fanboy in the gaming industry. He calls himself a journalist and repeatedly. He's not a journalist, he's a biased blogger and often lets his excitement or general love for a product or a brand blind his vision. Not only that, he falls for the marketing by the company and informs his viewers like it's some real ground breaking technology stuff. His interviews with devs are subpar and long rambles..

That being said, I like the guy for his genuine love for what he does and breaking barriers. I don't like his antics. I'm not saying he can't be "real." and keep it 100, but at sometime, you have to know how present yourself. Especially being black, you kinda making us look bad in front of other people man and probably lmiting the chances of others succeeding behind you.

On topic Now,

If there is a demo, No doubt I will definitely check it out. It doesn't seem like they confirmed or denied it. Which leads me to ask, is the demo going to be a day 1 demo? Would be neat if it was.

I'm a fan of nba bball. I liked 10 and this is looking a lot like it. Live 10 was a fun change of pace from the other game.

Make no mistake, I like 2K basketball, a lot. But I also historically have liked the gameplay of Live over the years. Live 10 was a blast. If its as fun as Live 10, I will be happy. Competition is good.

I agree with these gentlemen. I'm in. I was a huge Live fan during the good ole days, and I'm pulling for them to come back strong. I'll be picking up 2K14 as well.

EDIT: as for the poll, I voted for "I'm a fan of competition" but could also vote for "2K has gotten stale"

I voted for "Was buying, but trailer has changed my mind. I'm out." I have a €10 upgrade for 2K14 to PS4 so I was thinking I'd get Live as my other PS4 game at Christmas, but after seeing the trailer, it looks like I'm getting FIFA or Madden. I could change my mind but 2K14 looks so much better and I doubt I'd play Live that much. I was thinking maybe I could get Live at my birthday in February instead.

No disrespect to Scot, but this is hiding behind the "try before you buy" functionality being provided by MS. Technically, you can call them demos. But I'd bet that you won't see a *pre-release* demo as everyone is hoping for.

Will be picking it up, I used to love playing Live 04-06 on the ps2. But I did manage to play 2k5-2k6 as well on my cousin's X-Box back in the day then when I was gonna get my 360 back when 2k7 was out my cousin had the Ps3 and had 2k7, changed my basketball game preference foreal. Been somewhat more on 2k ever since. But I did give NBA Live 2010 a chance and I also, loved it while owning 2k10 and getting the 2 games prior to from 2k on the 360 till my transition to my current Ps3. Idk since Elite was a failure it seems like 2k has took it's foot off the pedal, I'm almost sick of 2k now, damn near becoming CoD(after CoD4 it seemed just like a rinse and repeat) to me with new animations and even more problems. NBA Live 10 gameplay was money if you compared it to the other Live games released for the current gen.

I'm gonna get Live 14 regardless because even the gameplay we got of the Heat vs Warriors it looked like the same old **** with better graphics. Like Jesus my team is the Warriors and watching that gameplay disgusted me because of the fact that 2k swears they have a new engine and want to become a more realistic game but they gave Curry the same broken not even close to his type of shot again for the next gen version. I mean for 2k having motion capture for their shots, they did crappy jobs with a lot of players shots in the game. You see there's even a thread every year basically of how to make a players shot look more on par with their real life counter part. It sickens me. Live had better shots to me even though they had less. Live's attention to accessories is WAY better than 2k's. I'm very OC when it comes to stuff like that since you see me bitching about the sig shots in 2k, the accessory and accessory colors piss me the hell off in 2k. The shoe models are garbage and always have been compared to Live. Live has always been on point with accessories/shoes even though from their trailer and dribble videos D.Rose only has one knee pad, if you notice on other players they have the longer knee pads/sleeves in the game now which I will probably change depending on the player since I'm OC with that type of stuff.

With all that being said, I'm gonna get Live 14 for the PS4, no regrets. If it turns out to be worse than what NBA Live 10 was, then it'll be a definite fail for me. But I'm just looking for something different for now I guess. And I'll probably get 2k14 too anyways like what I did with 2k10 and Live 2010.
