No player editing in a next gen title? Are they serious? How hard can that be to implement. If they are smart they will be patching that feature in ASAP.

This is very disappointing and a little bit of a deal breaker for me.

If the demo doesn't wow me, I won't be picking it up.

      Little sad...

So while community rosters may be okay, I would prefer Live to just get it right and keep it updated throughout the year.
The truth of the matter is that with sports games this generation, no roster editor on EAs/2ks payroll has demonstrated that they know exactly how the ratings affect each other and gameplay.

That's why you always see threads here every year for every game trying to decipher the ratings scale and create their own in an effort to get better simulation stats or better gameplay. So to think it'll be any different for EA's first basketball title in 3 years is naive.

There really isn't a scenario in gaming where taking options/control away from the gamer is a right decision. We should always have options to play our games how we want to. We're paying $60 to.

Remember when the DNA stuff in Live '10 was pretty much a mess and KDRE went and fixed it?

This is why taking away options is bad.

Didn't EA patch in player editing a couple of years ago?

Maybe they can do it with Live if enough of us say something.

If I remember correctly there were 3 or 4 different attributes that were drastically overstated in the in game experience (Speed, athleticism and a couple others). Once the roster editors were able to drill down to the root issue and amend those ratings by team, it made the game play much more realistic as a whole.

Knowing that we won't be able to do this is an extreme disappointment, and remains an incredibly puzzling decision.
maybe people were hacking it and figure out a way to have it online, therefore they decide to opt out on using it.

Does live even have a season/franchise mode? I don't get it. Sounds like all you can do is play one off games with updated rosters and tendencies.

I don't know how long they've had to develop this game and I don't want to go that route, but I'll acknowledge there hasn't been a game in almost 4 years now, but how do you put a sports game out in this day and age that doesn't have player editing or in game injuries? These should be givens at this point. I'm kind of scared of what else is going to be missing.
