I'm not sure how to post videos, but I am playing against the Pistons right now Jennings will constantly push it up the floor after a miss. Even Josh Smith will if he gets a board. It's not always resulting in a 2 on 1 or 3 on 1, but they aren't walking the ball up the court every time.

Also, unless I'm missing something, the CPU won't sub out their players if auto subs is set to off. I had been playing with auto subs on when I was trying out a bunch of teams, but I started a dynasty up playing 12 minute quarters and noticed that the Pistons didn't make a single sub when I had auto subs off. When I turned it back on again, the problem was fixed.

Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Hello Nick, you seem to be a big fan of this game. From the videos and the demo and countless impressions and full game videos on youtube etc, I am yet to see the CPU run a single fast break except on steals. I have never seen them grab a defensive rebound and hare off up court, run a 3 on 1 or 2 on 1 and finish strong. It seems EVERY time is CPU PG walks it up, waits for a screen or passes to the post. I agree with people's views on the pick and roll game, but NBA basketball NEEDS fast breaking to be realistic. Especially the modern NBA, where some teams run, run, run and run some more (Philly, Phoenix etc).
Does the lack of a fastbreak game not bother you? If you are seeing some teams run, run and run, could you post some vids? thanks in advance
I think this is an area that neither game does correctly and has been an issue for years. Its possible a little more in the other game off of defensive rebounds but it should happen at a higher rate in both.
Of course things may differ with teams, difficulty, and play style. In both games fast break from turnovers are easy points. Outside of that teams tend to get back quickly.

There are options for "Home Auto Subs On/Off" and "Away Auto Subs On/Off." I had been playing with auto subs on because I was just playing a bunch of quick games and trying out different teams. When I was doing that, the CPU subbed guys in and out just fine.
Last night I wanted to get into Dynasty a little bit, so I was playing 12-minute quarters with auto subs off. When I did that, I noticed that the CPU Pistons didn't make a sub for the entire 1st half.
So, I'm guessing that the workaround would be that I would need to turn auto subs on for the CPU depending on if they are the home or away team before each game. I'm thinking this should be possible, but I will try it out tonight just to make sure.
I don't like the way it's set-up. It shouldn't be "Home Auto Subs On/Off" and "Away Auto Subs On/Off." The CPU should sub regardless, and the only "Auto Subs On/Off" should be for the human player.Comment

I liked some of the things it was trying to do. Like I would put the difficulty higher for home games than away.

Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
That's why I'm thinking that the game could potentially have a favorable future, even without too many additions/tweaks. Granted, animations and graphics are two things that are needed to make the game look better, and expand the depth.
But... when the Synergy is working like it should, the game plays a really good game. I played the game the other night after Jermaine Oneal went off in real life, and they were feeding him for little post fadeaways. It wasn't a signature style Jermaine fadeaway like I would have liked it to be, but it was in the right spot, and they were going to him. This was with the 2nd unit being in there. Otherwise, Curry & Klay were taking the shots, and eating me alive. Curry was taking me off the dribble like he was eating my Pacers alive the other night.
Granted, there are some games that I look around and wonder where this type of gameplay is. If they can really nail it down though, this game will eventually evolve into something good I believe.
Do you have the demo or full version PP?#RespectTheCultureComment

For those that might be having a hard time making shots, give the "ratings only" option a spin. I'm really enjoying it.
For as ugly as this game can look at times, I am enjoying it nonetheless. Win or lose, I never feel like I'm getting cheated or cheesed by the CPU. Games don't feel scripted.
But man, they really need to tone down blocks.@KingTate84 on twitter.Comment

Simple answer is yes but doesn't happen as often as one would like.

I don't want to say definitively, because I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.

Another fast break off of a rebound. I was the Suns in this case, and they hit the cutting Hansborough on the secondary break.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: NBA Live 14 Has Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Well, I'm no longer ashamed to admit it - I really like this game.
Playing against the CPU is flat out fun. Every game that I've played feels unique.
I just started a Dynasty with the Bulls and lost my first game 98-81 against Miami. I played them tough for close to 3 quarters, but I started taking too many 3's and ended up going ice cold in the 4th.
The CPU movement on offense was outstanding. Back screens, pick and roll, high low action...I was really happy to see that. Just night and day from the demo. LeBron only had 4 points going into the half, but he started to take control in the 2nd half and ended up with 18-7-2 w/ 4 steals. The assists were too low for my liking, but that's okay. Wade lead the charge with 23-4-4, while Bosh chipped in with 13-9 w/ 2 blocks. Beasley was their main scoring option off the bench, putting up 10-9 in 21 minutes.
Rose (I wish) paced my Bulls with 20-7-5 but was only 8-18 shooting. He couldn't buy a bucket in the 4th quarter. Deng and Gibson both chipped in with 12. I only put up 81 points, but I think part of that was because I was playing Miami and part of that was because I'm still somewhat a novice with these controls. And just as a random note, I love how your players will come around screens and actually not jump back behind the 3-point line as soon as you pass it to them like they do in 2K (if you know what I'm referring to). It's nice when Deng comes off a screen and will catch the ball at the elbow and shoot a midrange jumper.
The biggest issues that I'm seeing reoccur that bother me are:
- Too many blocked shots (19 total in my game). And it's not just the number, but too many J's are getting stuffed.
- Not enough fouls. Only 9 TOTAL in my game. I will try and bump up the foul sliders and see if that helps.
- I feel like the CPU doubles too often in the post when they shouldn't be. And a lot of times when they double, your player will pick up his dribble automatically,
For me, if they could just patch these small issues, I would be thrilled.
Not trying to bring 2K up, but after playing today, there are still a ton of issues with CPU cheese, points in the paint, and just a scripted/computer assistance feeling that frustrates me to the point that I can't play it right now. It's looking like Live will be my single player game, and 2K will be my user vs. user game.
My wife is already sleeping on the couch, so I've got all night fellas! Time to take on Melo and the Knicks...Last edited by JoeDog10; 12-06-2013, 09:59 PM.Comment
