Watch the quick video. these graphics are not bad at all. no they are not on par with next gen 2k14. but they're not nearly as bad as some have suggestd. but this is a replay zoomed in. not some screen shot off the net.
So ask yourself. why does all the other live in game 5 vs 5 videos look so horrid?
Because for some reason EA sports chose to use bad zooming with their camera angles. the closest you can get to players while playing i believe is the ESPN cam. the 2nd is the EASPORTS cam. but if you want that good old fashion 2k cam. you have to choose from baseline high or baseline low. the problem with those 2 angles is that the camera is TO DARN FAR AWAY.
now i have a few theories why they did this.
#1 the player models are much smaller then 2k's. but this also helps live a lot. the spacing is LEGIT nba spacing on this game. this is something that has plagued 2k forever. 2ks player models are to large so they take up too much court space. which kills spacing, even while running plays.
So if this is the case for live. then because they have smaller players they could use the same zoom ration as 2k or close to it and yet we will still seem like its to far away since the live players are much smaller in size in comparison to 2k's models.
#2 some people have said 2k had a ton of nba players come in for facial scanning. but live didnt(budgetary reasons). so since live knows they have to do artwork from scratch and picture like they have in the past. they dont want you to see that these players dont look nearly as good as 2k(except for their cover athlete Uncle drew.
#3. they may have made the players much smaller(see #1) to also save more memory. which means you can use more memory for other things.
