Live's freestyle air is gonna be the only good thing, if you read the article closely they tried to make the free-agency thing sound good only because of live 2004's horrible free-agency logic so it was a must for EA to improve that, anything else I'll have to see it to belive it cause as someone in this post clearly showed, ea's early pic's looked crazy, but they game's actual graphics was trash.

ESPN NBAs graphics sukc. The reaply graphics are different form the gameplay graphics, which is the reason you cant zoom in on the camera angles.
And that is also wy the gameplay graphics loook 10 times worse than replay graphics.

No, VC_Dunker is exactly right. I gave my reasons for why I think this was done from a graphics programmer's perspective somewhere over in the ESPN forum recently. The ESPN ones arent necessarily. Maybe they are, but not nearly as much as EA Sports has done here.
I do know one thing. Current generation console systems CAN handle the rendering detail that can be seen in the ESPN screens but they cant handle what you see in these EA Sports screens, especially the lighting. The specs on the current gen console systems didnt magically go up in the past year, the hardware is exactly the same. However, it is very possible that we see something close to this for Live 05 on PC, at high resolutions and detail quality cranked all the way up.NBA 2K18 ratings for several seasons generated from advanced analytics using the SportsCrunch system:

Re: NBA Live 2005 Preview at IGN
did anyone play espn 2k4 on the x-box--the graphics during gameplay sucked, although the graphics on replays were better. Let's not forget that the gameplay was horrid. It's the same people every year that come here and bash anything EA. But they can't look at there own game--quite funny. You know who you are too.
I remember reading last year, how all these people were freaking out over an early live 2004 video--but all the talk came down a level when the games finally came out and there beloved ESPN 2k4 game actually sucked.
It's the same damn posters too, do the research--you'll see the same damn people in this thread last year bashing anything Live related, even before the game came out.
It's funny because they claim, they are not bashing but simply stating fact--but we all can read the tone and btwn the lines.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2005 Preview at IGN
NBA Live 2004 Gameplay >> ESPN Basketball.
And who ever thinks the opposite needs to lay off the good stuff.
The stutterting evident in NBA LIve 2004 was excusable since it was the first game in it's generation (new gameplay, graphics engine etc..)
I hope they fix it this year. Or else I'll be very dissapointed.
I for one, can't wait to see what NBA Live 2005 has to offer. Sega Sports lost me as a customer last year with ESPN Basketball. The A.I. was... well pathetic. Instead of taking a step forward they took 2 steps back.Comment
