Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
I'm curious to know if Live 15 is awful.. will you give up on the series all together or will you ride out the "3 year plan"??Tags: None -
Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
If Live 15 does poor like 14, I don't think we will even have an opportunity to give up on the series because I just don't believe the EA shareholders will continue investing in a game that continues to lose them money. -
Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
I agree, I just think they should have been years ahead of there competiors with all the income EA has racked up over the years. There resources should be unlimited! We should have the perfect bball game at this point from them... with yearly tweeking here and there, kinda of like MLB the show.. year after year the put out the same game with minor adjustments, but the fans of the game never complainComment

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
Well I somewhat liked 14, minus the boo boo graphics. Game Modes were aplenty and it was a well done and clean menu system. On the court it was a tragedy in progress from poor controls, crap defense (as in no defense)
A.I. was beyond dumb on all levels and it just lost something during gameplay that made me end it.
I started playing just for achievements, because I wasn't playing it for fun factor anymore.
If 15 isn't beast mode out the gate, I'm truly done with them and have lost all faith in them making a decent or even good game of basketball.
They will fade out my life, same as Sony's NBA the Inside series. And trust me I won't miss them.Comment

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
Agreed, Live 14 did alot of things very well.. but it was repetitive.. same lay ups dunks same baseline hop step.. spin moves etc. good thing is I get to try the demo before purchase.. which means alot to me, if i do not approve of EA's attempt.. i simply dont have to buy the game. either way I'm looking forward to this years game.. But I dont think I have to see another arena shot until Live 16 lolComment

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
And I don't think there's a chance that Live 15 will "suck". Gameplay wise, I think everyone will be surprised since that's where the focus has been.
I saw a ton of good in last years game, gameplay wise that if you didn't play it quite a bit, then you probably didn't see. That's not an excuse, because you shouldn't have to play it a ton to "find the good".
Regardless, I look forward to seeing how this years game shapes up, and finally get to next years completion of the 3 year project, which I've been as critical as anyone of. I don't believe that they'll "reboot" in year 2 of 3, and we'll finally have the year 3 of 3, and then continue to build upon it.Twitter - WTF_OS

A mod posted a response to the above user so there is no need for your response especially telling posters to get out of here.Comment

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
It really is the same song and dance for a lot of the posters here. Look, in my opinion there is no way 15 can be worse than 14. I played the hell out of 14 and saw the good in the game. What was lacking was the AI and the graphics, sounds like that's what was touched on so I'm pumped. Next year will be even better when they update a lot of game modes but honestly I was strictly UT and dynasty. I don't really care about a online league as most people ball hog or leave during the match. Relax and expect a video soon but in the mean time the good news is the marketing has started. We couldn't say that a week ago.Comment

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
If live sucks I would seriously consider selling my ps4. Basketball is what I play the most.
But I think Live 15 will be pretty good. The player models and arenas look nice from what we've seen so far . I'm anxious to see how the team does with a whole dev cycle mostly on gameplay . That's all I care about .Last edited by Rockie_Fresh88; 08-21-2014, 02:49 PM.#1 Laker fan

Re: Giving up on Live series If 15 sucks?
I didn't see anyone taking issue with the "I'm rocking with Live" so no need to get in any feelings about this one.
Like WTF said, what they've talked about sounds great...and if the game lives up to that I am good to go. Even if it's not up to par this year, I will give it a look next year...I don't really feel obligated to make a commitment to give up or show unwavering support either way.
If the game is good, ill buy it...simple as that..Comment

NBA Live here for the long haul
http://fansided.com/2014/07/21/nba-live ... l/#!bjeTad
When it was announced over a year ago that the NBA Live franchise was going it’s triumphant return in the form of a next-gen launch title in November 2013, fans of basketball were excited about the return of competition to a genre that had been dominated by the NBA 2k juggernaut for the previous four years.
Unfortunately, NBA Live’s return to the fold was anything but triumphant.
It was met with mediocre to bad reviews from numerous outlets, and just didn’t play the part of a next-gen game very well.. The poor reaction led to many fans wondering if EA Sports would pull the plug on the franchise after just one entry onto the Xbox One and PlayStation.
“I think there is always the risk of a reactive decision any time you put something out that you’re not extremely happy with,” executive producer of the NBA Live franchise Sean O’Brien said. “I think what everyone externally doesn’t tend to know is the plan that we’ve had all along as far as what this journey looks like.”
O’Brien joined EA Sports to lead the production of the resurrected NBA Live series in the fall of 2012, and has knowledge of how the company did business with the previous installments of the game. This allowed O’Brien to completely wipe the field, create a game plan and pitch it to the higher ups at EA.
This gameplan, O’Brien says, is a multi-year process to bring the franchise back to prominence. And it’s an internal plan that the executives at the publishing company are buying into.
But I think that, from a corporate standpoint, we’re all invested in this.
As noted, the initial reaction to the relaunch of NBA Live with NBA Live 14 wasn’t overwhelmingly positive. With so many expectations placed on EA Sports when they decided to bring a series back as a launch title on the Generation 4 line of consoles, it lead to the public having extremely high hopes for year one.
O’Brien credits those high hopes as a reason for the disappointment last year.
“I think I understand why,” he said. “There’s a lot of expectation with the title being away for a couple years. I think the interest level was high, and I think a lot of people wanted to see what we could do in a couple of years.
“Our first installment wasn’t great. It didn’t meet expectations internally, or for ourselves as a team. But I think that, from a corporate standpoint, we’re all invested in this.”
An all-in investment is certainly the case. O’Brien stated that the company has a long-term plan in place that will see year over year improvement on all of the feedback that it’s players are offering. And he wants the building of the game to be as transparent as possible.
“We want to bring them in on the journey,” O’Brien said. “[We want to] continue to show that progress and that we’re building positive momentum behind this franchise and what we’re doing”@KingTate84 on twitter.Comment

EA Sports is committed to NBA Live series
http://fansided.com/2014/06/11/ea-sport ... es/#!XOWLD
While much has been made about the flop that NBA Live 14 was, EA Sports wants to set the record straight. The fact of the matter is that, NBA Live was missing in action for quite some time. The series has come back, and those behind it have brought it back with a vengeance.
The goal is not to put out NBA Live year by year and quit wants it bombs again, but to work to create a serious threat to the competition. Thanks to a conversation that Game Informer recently had with Peter Moore of EA, we are able to find out exactly how committed EA Sports is to the NBA Live franchise.
In talking about NBA Live 14 following the launch, and the updates that were made to the game, Moore had this to say:
“I don’t see any negativity anymore. It wasn’t what we had hoped it would have been on day one, but the team stuck to it, and it’s got a very clear community that has railed around it.”
The franchise has a long-term goal of continuing to get better, and truly offer an unparralled basketball experience. Moore wants to make sure that gamers are aware the team behind NBA Live will be striving towards that goal as well.
“It’s still the platform for us going forward. It’s our 17th year with the NBA, and we don’t quit easily. It’s disappointing that we have allowed ourselves to get into this situation, and we’re totally to blame, but we’ve got a great executive producer in Sean O’Brien. We’re a company that has the resources to rally around it.”
Although it’s understandable why the community was up in arms about the game that EA Sports put out to the market, it is impressive to see EA continue to stick to the game and make sure that success is the long-term answer. While NBA Live 15 likely won’t overtake the competition, with this level of commitment, that outcome may not be far off.@KingTate84 on twitter.Comment
