Re: NBA Live 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
Here's to hoping the Day One patch isn't included in this. That was a big thing O'Brien was talking about in the NLSC interview.
He said the D had to be tuned better since the offense was way too overpowered.

I'm pretty sure the patch isn't in the early version!!!
Once I took off the Ratings plus skill, and kept Ratings only, I enjoy shooting a lot more LOL. I just hate the whole skill thing. I remember turning it off in Live 14 and enjoying the game moreComment

Ea shot themselves in the foot with the decision not to include sliders this year...if I was able to tweak some things manually I feel my experience would be a little better..
And WTF can you ask them to address the finals playoff wipe bug that occurs in a regular quick game

Re: NBA Live 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
My overall impression of the game is, well the whole game is based on Slingshot physics, the game engine is not fit for this generation and the year 2014.... Slingshotting is obviously not as bad as Live 14, especially the around the hoop stuff, but the game is much more arcade than simulation, because of the game engine the 10 player movement is the game's weak point, and unfortunately that's the most important part of the game.
You can record thousands of animations, but if you put them to work under an outdated physics/game engine, they will never look right, and it's why Live 15 doesn't and neither will any of the following Lives until they build a new engine from the ground up and stop using this PS2 monstrosity that they spit shine enough to try and pass of as "Ignite"
other things like performing special moves with players looks nice but takes you absolutely nowhere and its useless because most of the time your defender will just slingshot right back to you. There is no real physics involved, just simply the CPU knowing and reading your controller input and shadowing you
Graphics look very nice, body types are very impressive much better than 2K, each player really looks like them self at all times... all the players are basically being generic clones of one another, sure they may have different cross overs, but end of the day they all feel and for the most part play like one another
It really just feels like Live 14 with a major patch or two... this is the game I was expecting when they announced they were going to release a major patch for 14 to fix some of the big issues.
But this is basically what Live 14 should have been....Comment

Disagree on the body types. Some of Live's face scans are truly spectacular...some of the best in sports gaming...but the super muscular builds kill the immersion. 90% of the players I've seen in the gameplay vids are built like Anthony Mason or Kevin Willis. It's a shame because Kevin Durant has an amazing face scan with a body like Deebo.
I don't know about the "super muscular" part, I'm just not seeing it. They look more on the slender side if anything, maybe 14 had that issue, I didn't play it enough to know... but the muscularity and bulk was always 2K's problem wasn't it ?
Well for me anyway all I'm saying is with Live 15 when the 10 man on court action is going on, I know exactly who each player is without having to spend a split second to look and double check like I find myself doing with 2K constantly. That's a combination of solid body types and very well and realistic fitting (and moving) jerseys which Live really nails especially the waistband with the jersey tucked it's nice and tight with waistband visible like in real life.
In 2K the jerseys are muffin topping over the waistband to the point where you can't even see the waistband, making everyone look like they got 20 lbs of belly fat alone on them and this is the thing that makes most guys look the exact same in 2K, the ill fitting jerseys. Because who knows they might be perfect underneath, but you'll never be able to tell because of the jersey float and muffin topping.Comment

I do get what you're saying though I think in some of the close ups, and free throw line stuff you might see muscles that guys don't really have. Durant's arms should have more of a straight stick or bat shape but instead he has some muscle development and separation....
But the 10 man gameplay from any camera angle, the bodies look right to me, much better than 2KComment

Game is an absolute mess online. Why oh why can't we have 2k's gameplay with EA's servers. No depth online. No leagues or franchises. Low difficulty where EVERYBODY can simply spam to the hole and lay it in. No plays run.. No strategy at all.... Live online is an atrocityComment

Super disappointed with the complete lack of facial and hair customization in Rising Star, and the in-game rating system is whacked out. Also, what's up with there being players that are designed with a default look? Elfrid Payton is just a generic looking player.
Solid basketball game for sure, but mode depth is going to hurt replayability a great deal.Comment

is this the reason why several people have posted that the players feel as though they have no weight to them on the court?
also when you say PS2 style engine are you saying that EA doesn't have the ability to fix animations right now because they are still using old technology even on a Next Gen System???
Does this explain why we have yet to see animations and player movements that look more life like more often than not?NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD
