The whole all-star weekend thing sounds killer too. For the first time in like 3 or 4 years, I can't wait for a basketball game to come out. And, this time it's not NBA 2K, it's Live. Boy do things change. Keep it up EA.

Signature Shooting Styles...
All-star weekend is cool, but signature shooting styles is the best thing I've heard about Live 2005 so far. Why won't ESPN do this? How long is it going to take developers to make sure that the players play like they do in real life. Whatever happened to signature layups and dunks. Hell, Bulls Vs, Lakers had signature dunks. I do applaud EA for doing the shooting though. It's a good start. I never understood how baseball had signature batting styles, but basketball would never do signature shooting. I just hope for PS3 and XBOX 2, they expand it beyond "over 30" signature shooting styles, and at least do it for the top 2 or 3 players on each team.

Re: Signature Shooting Styles...
They only have signature shooting styles for the 3-point contest. It takes up too much space to put it in the real game. In the 3-point shootout, there is only one player on the court, and only half court. What they have, is 8 shooting styles, and they tried to get each player as close to their style as possible. -

Re: Signature Shooting Styles...
Interesting...If you read the interview over a easports, they talk about it like its in-game:
"This year, we've further tuned it to eliminate foot sliding while maintaining ultimate responsiveness; we improved post-whistle animations to reflect player emotions and added signature shooting styles. "
EA is always claiming they can't do something because of technology. They had signature layups back in Bulls vs. Lakers how many years ago. They said they can't do head tracking in football and Sega manages to pull it off. Well, even just having the shooting styles in the 3 point contest is a start though. Like I said, I'm really waiting to see how they improve on it for the next gen systems.XBOX 360 Setup:

Re: Signature Shooting Styles...
Remember bulls vs lakers only had the playoff teams back then. So thats a lot less players. And the gameplay was super slow at that. Nba Showdown was the first ea game to include all the teams and was the last ea game to include signature moves. I think that they could do it to but they might have to take something out.Comment

I think that is what will happen with the next-gen systems. i don't think teh graphics will improve much but every player will be able to have there own shooting styles and everyone will look nice, by this i mean that every fan will be a high-res 3-d character that all jump up and down and cheer individualy.Comment

Hmmmmm Showdown '94....I remember talking my EB guy into selling me a copy of Showdown the day before it was supposed to be released. I was so hyped, I coulda' shat myself. Those were the days. Didn't care about frame-rates, franchise mode glitches and shooting styles. I was just happy I could finally use the LJ/Zo/Gill Hornets. Gaming nowadays is almost too much of a lab expiriment than a fun, relaxing hobby.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
