Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
To be fair (I don't disagree with the point overall), Live is generally the furthest out from being released at this show when compared to the other EA Sports games -- like its release date is the furthest away. So it should look the most jacked. That being said, again I don't disagree with the overall point.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
But i remember playing madden 25 and how much terrible clipping and warping and suction was happening. Then the move to 15 resulted in a much cleaner experience. Now on 16 it's really pretty clean. But it took 3 cycles.
It seems that often the expectation that should be delivered upon is not met with the execution desired.
My initial feelings when playing this game was an excitement for the execution of a vision. that some of the things they have been talking about and wanting to do is real. When i see the videos, I see exactly what I have said. The game looks instantly better. It moves better. But there are some really awkward animations and the floaty or zipped passes are ugly. lobs are god awful as well. As of now there is not an improved post game. I could go on with what I don't like.
However nothing I see in any video can show how I felt playing it. And how much fun we had. I remember doing some of those same ugly animations around the basket and gritting my teeth. sometimes while playing a dev who gritted his teeth at it too. But that actually excited me. Because HE SEES IT ALSO!!! And for me that gives me some hope that they are on pace to make at least a competitive product. And for a guy who struggled to make it through a game last year, im shocked at my enjoyment of the product this year. Im anxiously awaiting the game.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
this is interesting. I was playing madden 16 and was talking to the dev about how happy he is with the quality of the animations this year.

Your comments about the actual game feel gives me a lot of hope! It sounds like one of those games that must be experienced to fully appreciate and where photos or videos don't do the game any justice. That seems to be the theme from those who have in person experience with the game.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
I agree....seeing at least 5-6 different ways of just bringing the ball up court was just beautiful for me too. I think if all they wanted to do was show great gameplay they could. you could play the game in a controlled manner in which only the best things would be obvious. I think this is one reason why they don't want people leaking footage. best thing for us is that there will be ea access for sure and a demo they believe.

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
On the flip side when Harrison Barnes stole the ball that should've been an easy break, but he went up the court like an old man... SLOoooooowComment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
I would love if they can also bring in some realism in terms of shots/dunks that are too far gone to play defense on. For example, if Lebron steals the ball and gets ahead of everyone, a lot of times the defense won't even try catching up. Or if there's a breakdown on defense and you pass the ball to a WIDE open shooter, they can have time to check their feet and line up the shot; the defense just gives them the look if they're that open. But in video games (not just Live, but all games), they chase you down or close out as quickly as possible no matter what. I'd like to see some more of that "human" effort added to the game.Last edited by El_Poopador; 06-18-2015, 01:08 PM.Comment
