Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
sup magic, i have a few questions for you.
1. i'm not sure if you have played 2k or not, but 1 thing that really bothers me is that when defending against a guard or any other player for that matter, can you play defense on that guy? i mean really get in they face, spread arms, or hands up, and move fluidly with the player, cause in 2k15 it is very very questionable whether online or offline. what about walking the ball up the court?
2. seting up plays, did play transition run smooth on court?
3. graphically i know the game is nice, whats up with the presentation or in-game commentary?
2. no plays on this version
3. no real presentation. commentary seemed exactly the same. but they noted that to be old.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
Excellent work! We absolutely appreciate this timely information. The game sounds truly promising so we hope the final product is all that we expect and more.
Some good questions here, however, what can you say about the following:
1. How is the late game AI decision making implemented so far? Last years was quite dissappointing! This is very crucial to the overall authenticity of the game.
2. Does the CPU automatically sub Lebron (for example) at the point guard position during the game? If not, I'm hoping adjustments can be made with the customization options offered this year.
3. Were you able to easily contain the CPU star players or would you say it's going to be necessary to gameplan for these players? How was the CPU level of competition and what game level (All-Star, Superstar) are you employing?
4. After tip-off, does the ball always fall into the hands of the point guard like Live15 or is it available to other position players?
5. Is the out-of-bounds force field still in play?
6. Is it easy to steal the ball this year? (Again, I'm sure this can be adjusted via sliders thank God)
There's more, but I'll try not to keep you too busy for now. Please provide further insight when you can and continue to impress upon the Devs that these areas (the questions asked on this thread) are key to solidifying this games status.
1. super small sampling with only 2 teams and to be honest in about 8-10 games. Only 1 was close enough to see anything. No timeouts called but against cleveland they did use the shot clock while leading the game and went to lebron and kyrie almost every possession.
2. No subs on this build.
3. Only pro was available. surprisingly game was pretty competitive at this level though. Had a heck of a time with curry though. Trapped him several times and he split that several times as well though!
4.yes
5.stepped/ran out of bounds several times expecting to be allowed to stay forced in!
6.not as easy. its been touched. I don't know to what degree will be acceptable for you though.Comment

Magic how was Paint defense and did players outside of the ball handler and primary defender look lifeless?Last edited by Rob. D; 06-17-2015, 06:59 PM.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
I see the video is up so everyone can see and judge for themselves. I can't tell you enough how everyone i met the last couple days while playing have been impressed with the look and feel of the game.
Im not trying to sell it to anyone. But I felt compelled to try and give some feedback when I saw no one else had. If the expectation is that they would have fixed or changed everything you ever had a problem with than you will be let down.
I said before this is not in any way a 2k killer. It's nba live. legacy issues and all....but it IS better. I don't know how some of you guys were able to stomach last years game at all. So thats my perspective. If you played that one, this one should be much more enjoyable. If you didn't or couldn't like me. This one looks better, feels better, animates better and is smarter. Maybe not in every single situation that you can find or point out.
peace fellas.Comment

My friend, you are really working overtime, 1000 thanks for taking the time to test and report your findings! Very happy with number 3 and 5 on that list. As most have mentioned, due to the early build status of the game, we're expecting further tweaks before release date. I'm also very dissappointed about number 4. That is inexplicable in this day and age and I really hope they will modify this aspect of the game to allow more dynamism and variation. I have faith that this team will get this right, based on what I've witnessed and especially with folks like yourself, WTF, etc, stressing that these details (however minor they may seem) are what make the game authentic and immersive. Thanks again for your steadfast response to the myriad of questions from the community members.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
Magic, another question is if shots or moves are based on position on the court and if there's any differentiation among players? For example, in Live15, if a player lands at a specific spot and wants to take a shot after receiving the pass, say close to the paint, a specific move/animation and resultant shot will be triggered and it seems to apply to just about any player regardless of position. In my opinion, this ultimately makes it appear more scripted and predictable. Is there more dynamism now and are you seeing more uniqueness as it pertains to the players in these circumstances.?Last edited by Calvenn; 06-17-2015, 08:14 PM.Comment

That Mozgov free throw pic is a thing of beauty! I just recreated it in NBA 2K15 and it's not even close. Live is on point with these arenas and lighting.Comment

Re: My 2 hours with Live 16
I never played basketball, so a lot of the movement and plays go over my head. I've really enjoyed playing with Play Art on, and it helps me play a more realistic style. While I kind of liked Live 15's simpler gameplay, the lack of Play Art was kind of a deal breaker.
Any chance it is in the game this year?Comment
