Aren't you worried you're going to do ALL THAT WORK, then possibly mess up the sim engine? Maybe there is a reason why they are rated as they are....

You can always reset the rosters, and I'll sim after I'm done anyways to see how it turns out, should work out fine...

only thing I'm changing off the bat is some real obvious things like Banks' speed, some other speed ratings, and a couple small things. I'll wait to see what others do and also wait to see how players actually play on the game before messing with it.

Operation Sports: Will you be using the 0-99 rating system or 50-99?

NBA Live 2005 Team: 0-99. This gives us better player skill differentiation. Incidentally, we frequently read feedback regarding ratings that are off/wrong, but we base all of our numbers directly from the end-of-season NBA statistics. So, before complaining that Walter McCarthy’s 3 point rating is higher than Paul Pierce, check the stats.




I can see people changing like speed ratings and stuff, but maybe play the game before you get toooooooo carried away.

i already had a post where i compared end of season stats to ratings and they don't match. Obviously the guy didnt know what he was talking about.

Dunk, Jump, Speed, Quickness, Dribbling, Primacy. These are the main categories that myself and others have been complaining about being wrong, and they are also the categories NOT BASED OFF STATS. And its not like theyre a couple points off. We're talking about huge differences with many popular players that any mildly hardcore fan of the NBA could point out right away.

I also have complaints about them taking stats only from the previous season and not counting the playoffs as well, which has been the basis in the past for incorrect ratings for players such as Robert Horry, Tayshaun Prince, and Zach Randolph. If they put in a "Playoff Boost" rating of some sort to account for this alternatively, I would be fine with that as well.

Ultimately, taking stats from the previous season is going to result in some incorrect ratings anyways because that is a better representation of how they played last season than in predicting how they will play this upcoming season.

I have been editing ratings for players in NBA Live for PC since Live 96 (excluding 2002, of course), so I am very familiar with their rating database systems.
