[QUOTE=Sonicmage]Dunk, Jump, Speed, Quickness, Dribbling, Primacy. These are the main categories that myself and others have been complaining about being wrong, and they are also the categories NOT BASED OFF STATS. And its not like theyre a couple points off. We're talking about huge differences with many popular players that any mildly hardcore fan of the NBA could point out right away.

Absolutely correct.
"Inside scoring" is a matter of opinion also. Look at the top 20...
Antonio Davis above Yao Ming seems crazy...Keon Clark has no post game...Pau Gasol's already got ten times more post moves than the Davis boys have ever had...Mutumbo has no post game...
Things like this aren't hard to fix.
O'Neal Shaquille
Wallace Rasheed
O'Neal Jermaine
Garnett Kevin
Brand Elton
Davis Antonio
Ilgauskas Zydrunas
Ming Yao
Nowitzki Dirk
Chandler Tyson
Gasol Pau
Davis Dale
Randolph Zach
Clark Keon
Odom Lamar
Mutombo Dikembe
Abdur-Rahim Shareef
Howard Juwan

What would an EA game be if you didn't have to edit the hell out of the ratings?Comment

Re: For those who are going to change ratings immediately...
I actually like the player ratings. I know some players are wrong but I just like the fact that they are low and leaves room for growth. Every since they've implemented the 0-99 system in 2004, I love it. Make each player more distinct from one another.
Besides, anyone on here remember that 1000+ post thread from Live 2003 where everyone was fixing player ratings? Now that was crazy.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: For those who are going to change ratings immediately...
When the players play well out of the box (with the exception of sliders) people are going to realize that the rating system is fine.
Maybe some players shouldn't be lower in 3pt field goal rating than another player, but the truth is that everything is arguable. I could argue that Walker deserves to have a better 3pt rating than Dirk (I won't because in my opinion that would be silly, but I bet someone else could...and I might anyway if someone wants to challenge it just for the hell of it).
Anyway, we already know that one rating can be affected by other ratings. Perhaps the reason why one player is rated higher in 3pt field goals is because their other ratings make sure that their field goal percentage will still end up lower than another player with a lower 3pt rating.
But, I see people saying that they are going to bump ratings by 10+ points. I find it laughable. For some reason people still can't grasp the fact that 50-99 isn't 1-99. I still see the argument (especially on the IGN Boards) that a player with a rating below 50 doesn't belong in the NBA.
On a 50-99 ratings, yes. On a 1-99 ratings, no. I mean, why is it so hard to grasp that there are 50 extra points to play with? I don't understand why people make something so simple so complicated."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
