i just started messing with the sliders

computer pro hop and drop step effectiveness are set to 70 and user's are both set to 0

ea put the user at a serious handicap with these sliders. i've moved the computer's and users both to 60 for starters, i think i'll mess with em some more.

the game is great to me though other than the problems i was having

do you got the game set to Action or simulation, make sure to check.

all you got to do is run some good offense plays in nba live 2005 on superstar level and go to your main player. also try to move the ball around the perimeter and post players up.

ok i'm running the break off a rebound i'm billups the computer, atkins in behind me all of a sudden they're running faster than me and beat me and cut right in front of me. this stuff feels artificial. its like they're always in front of me always cuttin me off if i cross em they fall get back up and still get in front of me.

i just wished the defense felt more natural instead of forced. like in espn i can get ball movement going and pass around and find the open man. i can't do that in live cause every other pass is tipped or stolen its like the computer has esp and already knows when and the exact spot i'm gonna pass it to. if a guy gets open half the time i can' even get him the ball. it gets too cluttered and passes get tipped and stolen too frequently.

i've noticed my players on my team don't play perfect defense like the computers players. they get beat off the dribble all the time. they get caught on picks with guys left open.

just watch the way the computers team plays then watch yours. the ai in this game is crap and cheats instead of playing in the rules like you have to.

I know what you mean...same thign with fast breaks. While my man stops to catch balls, CPU players catch the ball in stride. Hard CPU defense, lots of other issues too...but I attribute most of it to the wacky default settings.

You HAVE to mess with the sliders in this game...try slowing the speed down too from 50 to about 35-40. Also, reduce CPU intersceptions and reduce everybody's blocking. I played one game w/ 12 minute quarters w/ heat vs. Lakers w/ blocking on default at All-star setting and at the end of the game there were over 60 blocks. LOL. Shaq had 16. lots of good hands in this game.

You also HAVE to run plays to get open shots. And your window of opportunity anytime yoy have a man open is only a very split second.

Somehwo, this game is still a ton of fun. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the challenge of getting it "just right." Or maybe it's just fun.

i run plays like post up but i can't move the ball around. have you played ESPN? in that game your guy will make a logical pass. he'll angle the pass so his guy can get it but make it hard for the defender to intercept it. in live your guy just makes a dumb pass right to the defender just trying to get it to his guy.

I’m not saying live or 2k5 either or are better than each other but I’m saying live frustrates me way more. In live the difficulty feels artificial. The computer team is superior to your team, far superior. Your defenders don’t play anywhere near as well as theirs. On top of all that they really messed up the shot timing in this game.

Just give it time, the difficulty is one of the things i LOVE about this game. DONT STOP EA. Beacuse live 04 was horrible challenge wise.......

live 04 was easier than live 05 as a live 04 player i'm having a helluva a time adjustin to live 05 and all the guys i usually play with are too.

its hard to play this game and not get frustrated at something..
