Good find though. I noticed that players never run the break unless they have they're hand up calling for a pass, cutting to the hoop.

But all in all, it works without trying the method you described. It seems quite random for fast break opportunities.

I don't really take issue with the fast breaks in Live, but I'll try this out when I get home to see if, and how, it works.

is the lead pass button on XBox the white button? is it the same button for alleyoop?

I rented this game (have ESPN) and on the back of the box (Hollywood Video-no instructions) it says to press the white button for a fast break. I have had some success with this. You just have to keep pressing the stick towards the basket so your player does not stop.

I very rarely, if at all, am able to get that catch-in-stride animation unless its off a steal (in which case, you see it all the time). I haven't noticed any difference using the white button versus simply using the pass button. Actually, sometimes when I use the white button my player will attempt an alley-oop from half court, which can be annoying. So, usually, I prefer not to use it.

Can someone can verify that the catch-in-stride animation can be achieved using the white button to a recipient with a clear path to the basket.

Yes, I've had successfull fastbreaks using nothing but the fast break botton. Like I said before, if your player has his hand in the air while running the break, more times than often, he'll continue to run. But this does'nt happen all the time. I think its more of a timing thing on the break.

For me, the players only catch the ball on stride after a steal the ball. I think I remember maybe once it happened after a block shot.

Maybe I should try playing with a fastbreak team like Sacremento and see if it works better.
