Re: fast breaks, with no stop and catch

You know what i find ODD, that the sweet catch on stride animation happes ALL THE TIME when you in bound the ball. I always see it, yet i seen it a few times on the actual fastbreaks, i have a feeling that this might actually work so i will try it.

I am sure you know this but i suggest everyone to ALWAYS pass the ball with L2 on the break, now with the whole pressing foward tip you got here i think that MIGHT work.

I think EA pretty much could had fix this problem cuz as you see they added the animation that could fix it, but i think with their focus on the ASW they totally didn't add that animation ENOUGH and at the right time to help out the fastbreaks.

That animation happens when you steal the ball all the time, if you hit the right man. About your theory inkcell and Mr. President I can not get it to work at all. Inkcel I have been trying yours ever since you posted your first thread. Can you give a little more detail or help me in anyway with this? I get breaks all the time after steals with the sweet animation in stride, but never after long rebounds. When do you guys get your breaks?

You get fastbreaks if you get steals, it's harder to get off the rebound, but if you get a steal your players will go in stride, I get fastbreak baskets, so I'm not complaining.

I am not complaining, its just if I get a long rebound I should be able to break if I have a fast team.

exactly, that's how i feel too. fastbreaks from steals or blocks, any team should be able to do that. but fastbreaks from rebounds/long rebounds should be taken advantage of by faster teams, which doesn't really happen in the game.

I agree, this is something they need to fix.

                            HMMMMMMMM....I noticed that too.

As a matter of fact, I'll take it a step further.

Whenever I control the guy recieving the in-bound pass, I always tend to head up court before I pass it to myself. I use the Cavs, so if I'm controlling McInnis, and there's no back-court pressure, I start running towrds midcourt before I inbound the ball, and like you said Joe D, McInnis ALWAYS does the spin-around once the pass is sent to him. He ALWAYS does it. This leads me to the possibility that this animation kicks in EVERY TIME a human-controlled pass recipient is moving forward.

If we can learn how to switch players first, and always be the one recieving the pass, the fast-breaks may run smoother. "Give and go" contols kinda do this, but its hard to get the timing down.

Can someone see how the "off the ball" control works? I'm at work....I've got a good feeling about this.

Re: fast breaks, with no stop and catch

                                sirjam,

When you pass the ball, you are hitting the "a" or "b" button, or whatever it is. As SOON as you hit the pass button, and BEFORE the pass reaches its destination receiver, move the direction thumbstick towards the basket (and hold it there until the ball is caught). Thus, when your man catches the ball, he will be in a spinning animation. The effectiveness of this is that your man does not stop and catch on fastbreaks, but rather spins and catches on the fast break, and then keeps moving.

                                hope this helps.

I think though, that I described it more thoroughly in the initial thread though. (The FAstbreaks Solution: Straight From the CPU to You)
