Re: fast breaks, with no stop and catch

    sirjam,

When you pass the ball, you are hitting the "a" or "b" button, or whatever it is. As SOON as you hit the pass button, and BEFORE the pass reaches its destination receiver, move the direction thumbstick towards the basket (and hold it there until the ball is caught). Thus, when your man catches the ball, he will be in a spinning animation. The effectiveness of this is that your man does not stop and catch on fastbreaks, but rather spins and catches on the fast break, and then keeps moving.

    hope this helps.

I think though, that I described it more thoroughly in the initial thread though. (The FAstbreaks Solution: Straight From the CPU to You)

U know, I have gotten several fast breaks where they did you stated. They caught the ball in stride and i was able to complete the break. Unfortunately I did not pay attention to what I was doing.

I think I titled the thread: Fastbreak problem Solution S(traight from the CPU to You).

After noting that CPU fast-breakers spun after catching the ball on the run, i played w/ controls to figure out how to make my man spin too...

inkcil i was unaware of your post , so thanks, can you poit me to your original post??, i am glad to see we are on the same page. i played more last night, and it seemed to be working fine, i completed several fastbrakes using this, off of rebounds as well as steals, they didn't all work, but the majority of the brakes ran smoothly.

in your original post you stated that you was to hold the freestyle (R) up, but here you stated you hold the directional pad (L) up, which one is it?

His original post said to use the "freestyle" spin when you catch the ball, which doesn't work so hot. The freestyle spin is different from the "catch without slowing down" spin, they're completely separate animations. Doing the freestyle spin after you catch the rock doesn't help.

Doing it the way he said the second time should work....It seems that any human-controlled pass recipient moving towards his basket will do the spin catch.

                              sorry gilateen,

I left out a step in that quick discription I gave yesterday...

but it involves hitting the freestyle stick AND the direction stick.

You hit the pass button. While ball is still in the air hit the freestyle stick in direction of the basket. As soon as the guy catches it make sure to be holding the drection stick towards the basket. It's a 1-2-3 deal. Pass tap, freestyle stick tap, direction stick hold.
