Hmm, While Live undoubtedly does some great things, I think it's a bit of 'pick your poison' when it comes to passing rebounding, and steals in particular.

I posted several videos through out the year regarding my issues with passing. Whether they have more zip is up for debate, but one definite issue is that there is way too much wind up, sometimes almost a full second before passes come out. This combined with the long receiving animations take team mates from open to covered too often.

On ball steals are fantastic in Live. I'm also personally a fan of the 'automatic' steals in contextual situations. All that said, there is a distinct delay when you try to swat the ball manually...making predictable passes hard to get a hand on.

Rebounding may look better visually, but its a bit too automatic for my taste. The last patch helped a LOT, but there just aren't a lot of fights for the ball and rewarding of position.

So I wouldn't say these aspects are necessarily better, It's a bit of a personal taste thing.

It's more than personal taste though. With regards to rebounds, it's not simply about aesthetics. It's a game changer. It's about vertical position. Look at the video above involving Bogut. Short arming his attempt to grab the board, despite being in arguably better position cost his team an offensive rebound.

Two 6 foot individuals with the same exact wing span goes up for a rebound. One short arms his attempt and the other fully extends his arms. The first individual short arming his attempt has lost about 2-3 feet of verticality. That's a game changer. A short guard fully extending his arms towards a rebound has a greater likelihood of grabbing a board versus a big man who chooses to short arm his attempt, if the vertical distance of the short guard's fully extended arms is longer length-wise.

You're correct about Live's passes. Yes they have zip and the way they come out of a players' hand looks as if it's running 200mph. But if "aesthetics" isn't "that important," then you have to acknowledge that Live's passes do have more zip visually despite them not visually (speed at which ball leaves players hand) accurate, but the speed itself seems more appropriate (speed of ball after it leaves players hand).

Depends on what your definition of "Automatic contextual steals" is. If it involves player position not mattering, then unfortunately, I don't think that's appropriate.

As far as aesthetics go, it's fairly important as a visual sales pitch to the massive. Putting gameplay aside, 2k built their brand on aesthetically realistic player movement. Youtube comment section consistently uses the term "robotic" or the ilk to describe Live's player movements. Aesthetics is a huge selling point and as it stands right now, Live's rebound, passes, and steals on passes reflects the physical world better.

Note: 2k's Prelude seems to possibly sort of addressed my rebounding concerns, and have implemented zippier passes (with still some scattered floaty passes). However, this is still the honeymooon phase. We'll have to see if it holds up.

Also in the vid, Bogut jumped backwards instead of up to grab the board.

I'm worried it will follow this articles advice.

They said delay until near summer 2017 and just do a summer circuit type game.

Days after this article went out EA announced that they were delaying, just like this article said...
