I'll eventually find the link for it but I do recall Live Mobile being downloaded by 5 million people so I'd say they got something right this year

I can at least confirm nearly 380k people have rated the game on Android devices which i already more than what they sold on platforms

Yes they still have the nba license, and yes a full game will be coming in Q1 of 2017.

2k definitely has taken pages out of NBA LIVE BOOK, first to implement signature size ups? NBA live, 2k expand on it. First to implement 3D shoe scan? NBA live. But 2k will get the benefit of the doubt cause you can customize players shoes.

So now it's NBA live turn to take something out of 2k book and expand up on it. Game play wise customization wise players likeness wise, saw someone on twitter said that 2k start to look like NBA live and I'd agree saw kyrie screenshot and I was like no NBA live release a screenshot shot? Turn out it was 2k, live still got some catching up to do just need to add a lot more stuff tweak so stuff implement a lot more stuff, and we'll have too good basketball simulation which ever one you choose to play that's up to you. I'll be playing both!!

NBA Live better not try to be a 2k knockoff they should try to be an alternate and create their own niche. I take back what I said earlier that they need to implement features like Coach Mode, Legends Mode, Referee Mode, what they need to do instead is get back to the basics of 5 on 5 gameplay. They need to focus their time, energy and resources to get the gameplay correct than move on to features. NBA Live development team seems alot less than 2k so EA will need to invest more in the development of basketball like they do Madden and Fifa, there's no reason not to just look at the money 2k is banking from NBA games.

Quick Rundown of 2k Gameplay Improvements for just this year alone.
          - Double Alley oops
          - Jostling Box out Animations
          - Physicality Animations(Chucking,Grabbing)
          - Tip in/Tap out Rebounds
          - Fatigued Players Slowdown
          - Fatigued Players affect ratings negatively
          - 115 injury types
          - Evasive Layups(User Controlled Double Clutch Layups)
          - Pull the chair on Offensive Player
          - Overhead Skip Passes
          - Guarding Big Man get blown by by little guys on peremiter
          - CPU AI takes advantage of mismatches
          - Players tug of war battles after rebound attempt
          - More Zip on Passes
          - User Controlled Emotion/Celebrating
          - User Can Select Player Signature Celebrations
          - Dynamic Attendance
          - Spin Moves and Euro Steps have been moved to buttons for easy user control

I left alot of things out the competition did for just gameplay not including features and presentation. This is the same effort I expect out of NBA Live next year go above and beyond what people expect that's what will have to happen to regain the market.

I hope they add substance to the modes this year and finally let us able to do trades and stuff so I can keep playing this game for a longer period of time.

What we need for gameplay is better on ball defense and collisions in the paint because dribble penetration is too OP for the defense.

A couple gameplay related things that I find Live doing better.

                  (1) Passes have more zip.
                  (2) Rebounding animations are better in Live. Players actually fully extend their arms to grab the rebound, while in 2k, sometimes players would short-arm the rebound.

My concern with the Live16 Demo (which I can't even fire up right now, for whatever reason my demo expired or something).

                  (1) Inside shots are relatively too easy.
                  (2) Too many 3 point shots and not enough midrange.

Had they fixed the above two concerns, I likely would have picked up Live16.

The mid-range is still pretty meh right now, I agree

I used to play PF/C so I got my fair share of blocks, however, I do remember that once people got too close in to the hoop it either go straight in or I'd have blocked it

Problem is 2k has fixed rebounding and passing. Live has no advantage except being more accessible for casual players

what i would like to see from live is to add on to the current post game making it more dynamic, with more post moves for the postions that go to work down there and i would also like to see them return to their more arcadey style of gameplay and make it just a tad. just a tad more exciting. meaning you will get dunked on if your in the post and there is a dominant center down there or winger attacking.

also you can speed up the game making fast break situations more realistic, which most games have yet to excel in. no more defenses able to beat the offensive player who steals the ball at the top of the arc.

Please bring back NBA live 15 size up dribbling moves, also bring back the coaches wire from NBA live 14. For NBA live 17 make defense a priority especially on ball and in the paint collisions. Don't take anymore shortcuts with animations because gamers now demand games to look real to suspend belief and provide that immersion. Also go all out with signature animations from jumpshots, to dribbling moves and even the way players walk/run because you guys are seriously lacking in that compared to the competition. Another gameplay element lacking is 2man animations I know you guys canned them because you didn't want the game to be dictated by animations but this is the NBA where 2man interaction is guaranteed in real life so it needs to happen in the game. Don't worry about adding any more features like my previous wishes of a Coach Mode and Legends Mode, who cares just worry about the 5 on 5 gameplay and animation quality.

                            2 things:

                            1. 2K has taken cues from Live. No big deal. If it works, it works. Live does do a lot of things right.

                            2. NBA Live has to be the most resilient gaming franchise ever. And the Live heads are the most patient consumers in history. I'm in awe when looking at the retail numbers of the past 8 or so years. There isn't another business on the planet that would continue dispersing resources with so little return. Their market share is literally less than 1%. 2K16 sold 4 million in one week, NBA Live sold less than 300,000 total.

Now with all of that said, I'm anxious to see what they do for NBA Live 17 lol.

Live still has several advantages. The following are just some that I still see lingering in 2k16.

How do you know that 2k has fixed rebounding because NBA2k16 surely hasn't fixed the rebounding concern. When I say players are "short-arming," they're not fully extending their arms to reach for the ball. That still happens in 2k16, and from the leaked gameplay 2k17 video, that still happens. It's better but it still happens. Secondly, 2k still has "floaty" passes as seen in the 2k17 leak videos. There isn't enough zip on them. Better but not there yet.

The following rebounding situation happens in 2k because of how they program the characters to grab the rebound

                              Spoiler

The way 2k interprets steals on passes are still not "appropriate." Live interprets steals absolutely on point. 2k still expresses them animation wise with a "psychic" ability.

                              Spoiler

EDIT: Here's a clip from 2k17, short arming rebounding.
