Re: We need more info
Lurking...
I've been a 2K player, since 2K2. I'm REALLY hoping that Live 2018 is able to deliver a somewhat sim game, but it's not over the top. I'm getting older, and I just want to play online, and not feel like I'm playing a Street Fighter game where you have to know special combos to win.Comment

Re: We need more info
I just had a discussion with an NBA Live YouTuber. He told me that EA doesn't need to give out any info on Franchise mode since nobody plays it anyway. It's 2017 after all.
This might be true, I really don't know. I just don't understand this way of thinking. Why limit yourself and alienate those that do like to play franchise or offline?
I was told the good news was that Live will have 11 Parks to play in this year. Yay? [emoji19]My hype level for this game is starting to decline.

Re: We need more info
Don't take what some youtuber says as gospel. EA knows their audience. They know plenty of people play franchise mode.
And I believe they even brought over people from Madden to work on it.
It's probably not gonna be as deep as we all want it to be this year, but whether we like it or not this is another reboot for this franchise.Comment

Re: We need more info
I think they will drop more info within next 2 weeks. With Madden dropping info next week most likely, it is reasonable to think NBA Live will follow suit. I don't think they will wait until the demo to drop without releasing more info on game. I think Demo will drop mid-AugustComment

Re: We need more info
The hype for this game died down quick. Like it was cool seeing EA showcase something, but at the end of the day, I think most people have come to realization that (despite the improvements) , the game still isn't where it needs to be in 2017.
I can imagine that (once again) people are only going to download the Demo & play it until 2k comes out.Comment

But, that's kind of reason why 2k and Madden chooses to way until month before to start dropping consistent info. Madden had a similar situation last year where they dropped almost info by Mid-July and pretty much lost some steam heading into release. 2k waits until GamesCon to drop info. Because when you start dropping info, it is best to just continue. Where you don't want to have a month prior to release with no info at all. I think it is best to start 2 months prior and end 2 weeks before release for infoComment

Re: We need more info
As much as it bothers others about not seeing any news on franchise mode, this does not detour me at all from my decision of buying the game when it is released.
The demo is less than a month away and I am still excited about what LIVE 18 has worked hard to put together.
Talking with Shopmaster, it is great to once again have two basketball titles to talk about, even though, 2K will probably remain king, I still like the direction that LIVE 18 is headed towards.
Compared to 16, LIVE 18 from vids that I have seen has surpassed their previous already.Comment

Re: We need more info
This has to have been the worst marketing campaign for sports games of this console generation. Mostly for the fact that there has been no marketing done at all.
You give us clips of everything you want us to see in June, give us vague information on some modes in the game, then just go quite for almost 2 months. Really in no position to be hiding information.
There should have been a constant stream of info since ea play. Developer updates, screenshots, something to let us know that a video game is coming out. It would help your sales if people know your game still exists.
It's very frustrating to see nothing from a company who hasn't exactly been providing a masterful basketball game. Either they've put no effort into giving us information, or they've put effort into making sure information doesn't come out. I don't know which is worse when we are a few weeks from a supposed demo.Comment

Re: We need more info
EA's marketing strategy of releasing info in spurts hasn't worked in any of its new gen releases. They get us excited and then go crickets for months which only leads to speculation and pessimism about possible cancellations, which is totally understandable given their track record. I wish they would just release info in small doses but in a consistent way. Maybe at the start of the cycle, tweet out that new info/ game captures will be released once a week on a specific day to give us something to look forward to. I would rather then start 1-1.5 months from release to start and then just drop big developer blogs with videos and trailers throughout
