You know what ? I've been very, very impressed by the demo this year (haven't bought NBA Live since what... 2002 ?! I'm a 2K guy). But for the first year, I'm open to preorder NBA Live. All it's missing is some info on a good and deep franchise mode. Let's see what EA has in store.

I would join a CFM if it was available for Live 18.

Just a question, so don't read anything into it, but how many of you guys would want a cfm like Madden? I'm not an online guy at all, but I often see people talk about wanting a cfm.
The lack of a cfm in 2k is serious vulnerability that live can pounce on. A cfm in live akin to madden would be a game changer.

At the moment, 2K is burying Live in the news - I feel like Live needs to start pushing some info to counter.

you sir took the words right out of my mouth! every damn piece of 2k news, i get a text or mssg from a 2k guy "you still not messing with 2k? read this, or look at this"

cmon ea, give us something before the end of next week? im telling you ithey need to "surprise release" the game to everyone on 8th. thats the only way i see them making significant sales numbers.

i mean we do have the demo, so i dont want to come off as ungrateful but i also dont want to see live lose its momentum before the game comes out. theyve been a step ahead of 2k in terms of releasing info, but it seems like it wont be for long

The momentum is swinging hard to 2K. The Irving trade has only added to the hype and with 2K's recent announcement of The Global Broadcast next Thursday, they have ear and eye of every basketball game player.

EA needs to counter with some in-depth info, complete with videos, to shift things back to a more neutral state. Their 20 dollar preorder discount is nice, but that won't be enough.

I would love to be able to play a nice Franchise mode that includes editing (another missing piece) that would hold me over for multiple seasons. But it's just not in the cards. LUT & Street is what this game is all about. At least in my opinion and that's what is holding me back from purchasing it right now. I'm interested to see what changes have been made to this year's Franchise mode. Hopefully we find out soon.

Ppl saw the drew league in trailers so of course they are going to talk about what they see/saw. On the other hand no one hear or read anything about franchise mode so there is lesser discussions about it.

What I was trying to say is that Franchise Mode seems to be an after thought. This happened with Live 16 also. The Street/Drew/Park modes are what's hip at this point and time. The young folks are eating this up. They love it and will basically only play those modes. That's fine with me. To each their own and if I was a younger person, I might be the same way.

I got laughed on YouTube for suggesting that editing and a deep Franchise mode would help Lives replayability. I was told "nobody cares about editing or franchise. It's all about the Street and running in the Drew". His post had over 300 like minded people give it a thumbs up. Times have changed. Hopefully Live and it's franchise can change with it.

Give me the ability to edit players and rosters is all I ask on the 1st go around. Then maybe the ability to create draft classes next and I'm sold, but considering it's obviously on the back burner since Live returned I'm not holding out hope for even roster/player editing sigh.

Just a question, so don't read anything into it, but how many of you guys would want a cfm like Madden? I'm not an online guy at all, but I often see people talk about wanting a cfm.
I'm not even on an online player but honestly, I think a full online cfm just like Madden (with realistic contracts, drafts, etc.) would be key for them. Their game play is already fun so now they really need a mode that will outshine 2K. They're likely years away from having anything close to resembling 2K's offline experience so the best way for them to steal sales is by going for 2K's weakest link.

They could easily pull online players over and continue staying away from things that EA seems to be scared of that a lot offline players really want (*cough shareable draft classes *cough ). I don't want to speak for online players but I think most of them would be okay without shareable draft classes as long as they had a complete cfm and of course decent generated draft classes.

i dont know how old you are bro, but im 32/33. i came up on franchise and dynasty modes. i used to always create myself as a player and put myslef on favorite squads ( nets/giants, cant say this too loud as im originally from philly lol) and be happy with that. i didnt start online gaming until 2k14/2k15. like a lot of folks i loved it - at first. but then over time i realised the majority of folks that played that mode werent looking for a competitive sim experience. they wanted a highlight and to talk major ish lol.

i met a lot cool fellas and we actually have a built friendships over the years, but im so burnt out by the "online career modes" that it almost made return to offline only gaming lol.

i REALLY enjoy The One, but what im MOST hopeful for is a connected franchise mode where i can have the best of both worlds. playing online with folks while still maintaining a sim experience. hopefully live delivers as im almost completley done with the other game. if live delivers with a solid franchise mode, goodbye 2k.
