Re: Franchise mode what are you looking for?

They don't get a pass. Why are some of you so willing to give infinitely rich corporations such as EA Sports a pass?

They have had the better part of a decade to make a fully featured basketball game, you know? Those things they use to make back in the day...

Live nostalgia is one I will never get. At least when NFL 2K went out, they went out a BETTER game than Madden. Look, I started out playing live when I was 9 (NBA Live 98) on the Sega Genesis. I also played the living hell out of 2000 and 2001.......but this series lost all respect and credibility with me the moment one Andrew Bynum spun like a top in halfcourt in a game I know no one wants to ever hear mentioned again. Fortunaely, it was never released.

Oh, played the demo. The defense is shockingly....not bad. They seem woke.

It's a bug, let's relax and let them patch this up before for the day 1 release.

I give zero creedance to all these reviews before the game has actually been released.

But people have the game already. You don't think reviewers have the full game?

Not day 1 patched..., It's a release candidate, but not final release. I'll reserve my judgement on the final release.

Are you saying no reviews should be written until the game is patched? Does the first patch make it a final release or does the third? I'm flabbergasted.

Well you kinda have to blame the publishers for that if thats the case. They give out copies to all these media outlets to review before the ''day one'' patch is released.

I don't disagree, they should be previews and not reviews. That's all. Just saying I'm not going pass judgement until I have the day 1 patch.

Hopefully this is good news for those of us keen on franchise mode or at least a step forward.

Re: Franchise mode what are you looking for?

                      All I really need is

                      Fantasy Draft
                      Realistic generated draft classes
                      CPU trades

                      That's about it.

CPU automation is also very nice. I don't like having to do EVERYTHING. On 2k I usually only watch games, draft players, and make decisions on trades. I let CPU handle everything else.

                      MLB: Atlanta Braves
                      NBA: San Antonio Spurs

This is no excuse, sorry. These people that are reviewing the game are given REVIEW COPIES by the company to actually review the game. That's the entire reason they are given these copies early. So to say they shouldn't review the game before the 1st patch is a little ridiculous. That's not how this works.

Also, there are alot of issues in Franchise mode that a day 1 patch isn't going to fix.

                        - The fact that the game only lets you sim once per week, and not individual days like it should be for an NBA game. This works in Madden where the games are once per week, but in an NBA game, no. What if I wanted to change my starting lineup for a different game. I can't because it sims an entire week. There could be 3-4 games in a week. This is a very bad decision by EA.

                        - The simulation engine is bad. In one of the trusted reviewers (pastapadre) he did MANY season simulations and they had some really mediocre teams making it to the finals. The Sixers actually WON the finals a few times, actually sweeping the Warriors or winning 4-1. lol

                        - If you turn off auto subbing, it breaks the CPU subbing for the rest of the game. They never end up subbing out players during a game at all.

                        - There is no trade block in the game. And if there is, it's so incredibly hidden that a few people that tried looking for it ..couldn't find it.

                        - There are no injuries during the games you play, only in simulation.

                        - The CPU does not complete any trades among the other 29 teams that aren't controlled.

                        - There's no online component to Franchise mode.

                        - There's no ability to edit the players.

                        - There's also no player lock in the game. Not a huge deal to people, but to many this is a deal breaker.

I mean I've already bought the game, I'm not hating on the game. It's entirely my opinion that the Franchise Mode development was very sloppy in it's creation. All games have bugs sure, but all these issues and DESIGN DECISIONS shouldn't be here at this point at GOLD release. Alot of the things I mentioned above are Franchise mode breaking issues.

I have no doubt that the gameplay (from what I've played) and "The One" Career mode are pretty good however.

That's really weird. EA Sports does implement this in Madden, FIFA.. why not in Live?
