I'm pretty sure all NBA LIVE fans with argue about the pick up and play statement you just made but the simple fact that you believe NBA LIVE 19 couldn't topple over NBA 2K just goes to show how content that side of the basketball community is.. NBA 2K18 (gameplay wise) still looks suspect after all these years where NBA LIVE only lack mode depth and graphical input(slightly)!! We're coming.. I hope to god they don't slap a sandbox together and throw it in NBA LIVE.. The realistic, authentic approach will prevail in the long run..

Those bombs 2k dropped are certainly going to appeal to an awful lot of people. Me, I'm very much a gamer, but an old-school gamer -- so all of that mycareer and now "neighborhood" stuff just doesn't excite me. I find the extent that these games go into creating this virtual life to be pretty cheesy. (going back to 2k's "The Crib" back in 2k5)

Don't get me wrong, I've created myself in all 2k bball games, Live 16/18, etc...and I do like customizing myself with gear and accessories. (and also my character in games like GTA and Watchdogs2.) But living in this virtual world (or neighborhood) where I walk down the street going into stores to buy shoes/gear, into barbershops to get haircuts, etc --- I don't need all that. I think it's cool seeing yourself as an NBA player. But I don't need to imagine myself walking down the street and going into Foot Locker or into a barbershop when I can do all that stuff in real life. But like I said, this is obviously appealing to a ton of people.

Just give me a good -- and fun -- NBA basketball experience! And I know people are going to come back with, "Well 2k's got that, too." Which is true -- but I've played enough of it over the past 7 years for the game to just feel 'stale' to me.

            Nothing else to be said....

I've come to grips with this bombshell over the past few hours by telling myself it's for the kids... It's for those kids who want to dream, it's for those kids who live overseas and want to experience the American culture.. It's brilliant to say the least! At the end of the day, I'll watch NBA BASKETBALL games in 4K without saying to myself: " Wow I saw that in NBA 2K18 " and tan in the NBA LIVE glory of authentication instead!!

The least they could do is throw a few crackheads on the block and some gunshots in the background to make it feel like home.

                Re: Where is the news?

After seeing what 2K dropped yesterday I don't think Live has any news that will trump that. Live 18 is about improved gameplay, The One, and the WNBA, I'm pretty sure that's the biggest features they have, I'm not expecting anymore surprises.

Simple reason Live 18 is not appealing to me at this point for me to buy: Customization .

I am sorry but Live 16 rosters had some major issues. I provided feedback with details backing issues up but nothing changed. These were not personal preferences but facts about players that were just ignored. I am too OCD to let major things get overlooked because a player doesn't have a certain reputation or following.

NBA Live 18 will sell and I hope it sells very well, but it won't be able to cut into the market share without Customization.

                    .
Agreed. I like what Live 18 has brought to the table with The One and how that works -- they need to take that and build it into Franchise mode. I feel like they have a good start on something.

But until they allow users the ability to customize things to their liking (even minimally), they won't flip anyone on 2K's side to theirs.

Live's lack of information, two weeks out from its release, is really disconcerting. I don't know who's running EA's marketing arm for this game, but they need to get on the ball. 2K one-upped Live with their MyCareer stuff before Live even hit the market, and did so in such a way that it'll take Live years to get to where they are.

Assuming Live is around in years, which is not an assumption I'm comfortable making. Live, give me something here. I want to support you, but without further information, you're asking me to buy based on an solid to good demo, and promises things get better ... and that's too little for a game franchise with your recent history.
                    Any comments are welcome.

Agreed, but I never was a fan of all the off court gimmicks in a sports title. What matters is what's happening on the court, and so far Live is it for me.

I'm a grown man in my 30s and I'm American and in super hyped for 2k so it's definitely not strictly for the kids. By your logic then video games is meant for the kids which is totally untrue.

What really scares me is that, they cant confirm via tweet or anything really that a simple feature such as editing rosters is in the game.
It really aint a big feature. PS2 NBA Live had it, and it was great. The fact they are so reluctant to just tell us "yea editable rosters are in" is not a good look... because it probably isnt in the game, again.

What people fail to realize is that EA is not competing with Visual Concepts! These companies are in bed together and the NBA is the camera man... That's the 100% truth.. THE ONE? NEW OPEN WORLD MY CAREER? Same thing... One is setting trends and the other is setting the bar!! #FACTS

When people wake up and smell the coffee I hope that they see the difference between the two and notice both titles aren't where they should be!!! EA released a demo long time ago. They have nothing to worry about!

We also got very strong hints that franchise was not the focal point, and that most of the time they spent on the game was working on the one, and gameplay. So if your expecting a new franchise experience it most likely won't happen.

These things wouldn't be promoted heavily because they weren't worked on much. When they do promote the game they will probably spend most of their time promoting the gameplay, the one, or ultimate team.
It would be nice if they'd stop dropping "hints" and just come out and say it. One way or the other. That way I could just move on [emoji16]
