One of the guidelines I've always used when judging whether a game is authentic, especially a pro game, is whether the players play like their real life counterparts? Do stars stand out...do they play to their strengths or does everyone play the same no matter what? I watched a game earlier of the Bucks and Pelicans and the video game version of The Greek Freak....I wish we could DVR footage man. He was a dawg on both ends man. He was getting steals, blocking shots, attacking the glass with thunderous dunks. It made me say, if I play against this guy I have a problem on my hands...I really have to account for him. In a video game that's all you can ask. EA did a doggone good job with the gameplay...and I've been doing more watching than playing. I'm so glad because I play both games and competition is good. 2k needs to be pushed gameplay wise...their game feels way better this year too.

This is my hoop game of choice but I feel you can cheese on defense in this game. Drawing a charge is too easy IMO and I think players are going to be getting excessive amounts of offensive fouls.

The ai can definitely cheese animations. Just completely ignores the defender in front of him. Another thing is Nene isnt taking off from that far at this point in his career.

I agree that there are a couple little things a bit too easy for guys to do like leap from a far distance or do reverse layups with ease.

However, that defender didn't even get into a defensive crouch.

This Thread reminds me of the ugly baby episodeof Seinfeld, I think there are clear expoits in live 18, especially in the paint, clear lack of AI awareness when it comes to loose balls, lack of transition animations. People are trying way too hard to try to make this game sound better than it is.

I agree that there are a couple little things a bit too easy for guys to do like leap from a far distance or do reverse layups with ease.

However, that defender didn't even get into a defensive crouch.

That was me during a game, but the ai still has to respect the defender tho, shouldn't have to hold L2 for it not to jump from that far or run through me.

No one is saying thait's perfect. One can just as easily and fairly say that people are trying way too hard to downplay how good this game is.

If you read my post, I acknowledged some issues. I acknowledged that there was room for improvement.

But overall, this game is so damn good. Objectively speaking. I have no ulterior motives. I have no agenda. I have no biases.

All I want is the greatest basketball experience in a game. And I have without a doubt gotten that in this game.

You have to understand that I am no blind Live fanboy. I don't root for franchises. I root for products, I'm a consumer. I want the best product. That's where my money is going.

I am a pure basketball fan who was an NBA live outsider.

This game swept me off my feet. I was beyond amazed. I got hooked. And this is the best basketball video game experience I've ever had. That's why I bought the game.

If a game is making me coming back to these forums every day and writing long posts about how damn good it is, then for me this game must be really damn good. If I'm stopping my games every 20 seconds to admire a replay, I'm having a damn good time. And if I'm spending hours making montages and recording clips to share with others, I'm having a great experience.

If it bothers people that I love sharing my great experience, I will stop.

To say that we are trying too hard to make this game sound better than it is...that infers that we aren't really having a good experience and that our thoughts aren't genuine.

I will gladly stop, but I meant every word I said because that is exactly how the game made me feel. And that's what matters.

We aren't trying hard at all. We are sharing our experiences.

In fact, they are trying really hard to get into every thread to downplay our enjoyment. We aren't doing that to them.

Just as we find enjoyment in this game, let them find enjoyment in having nothing better to do.

I respect your opinion and I am glad you are enjoying the game, my post was not intended to dispute that, my only issue with this thread that the OP clearly stated a false fact, no game is Cheese free every game has issues and as consumers when we purchase a product we should be aware of such isses, we purchase if we can look past those issues and enjoy something flaws and all, but we return super quick if we feel that we were lied to.

This is the best basketball game ever created and it's not even close. I've played them all.

NBA Live is years ahead of the game.

One thing I've learned about people giving impressions is to only take it so far, especially when a game is new since a lot of people are trying to justify their purchases, or the new game vibe hasn't rubbed off yet, so they will hype up a game being much better than what it is.

And it's not just with this game, I've seen this with 2k and especially in madden.

I respect your opinion and I am glad you are enjoying the game, my post was not intended to dispute that, my only issue with this thread that the OP clearly stated a false fact, no game is Cheese free every game has issues and as consumers when we purchase a product we should be aware of such isses, we purchase if we can look past those issues and enjoy something flaws and all, but we return super quick if we feel that we were lied to.

I apologize for taking it the wrong way. But I think things could have been worded better. The OP may have had an experience that he felt was not cheesy.

I think you could have offered that you were having a different experience. And that you felt like there were some things that felt cheesy to you such as ________ etc.

But ultimately, a lot of us are having incredible experiences with this game and we're excited about it.

Both criticism and praise are equally important into building a good game in my opinion.

I know the devs appreciate both! So all good man and no harm.

So far I have not found a super exploit in the game and we are a month in. There probably will be found soon enough but abusive 50foot passes and and undefendable interior passes and the like I have not seen. I am just having a fantastic time with the game and don't feel cheesed or cheated if I'm losing...
