This may be a tad irrelevant, but I heard rumors that EA’s exclusivity with ESPN is expiring in 2019/2020. This potentially opens the door for a new NFL 2K series; this might mean that NBA 2K takes an even further step back.

I hope not, though. It’s good to see competition in the sports video game market again.

2k's game play is the BEST it has ever been, after editors make edits. Bad press from all the cheeses and cry babies who never want to miss a shot.

NBA Live I am hoping continue making games for the next 50 years. Sadly it won't happen unless they get rid of Synergy so you can edit the game And make a Deep Franchise mode.

Right, but there’s a loophole in the CBA that they signed, something like the NFL isn’t written in the ESPN/EA agreement. Once that expires in 2019, it’s possible that 2K could bring an ESPN NFL game to the market again.

If I can find the video, I’ll post it. It explains it a lot better than I can.

That is true, I have never seen such a negative reaction for a nba 2k game. Hopefully 2k gets the message that consumers don't like being micro-transactioned to death. And even reading some of the impressions thread, the reaction is mixed.
