There still a sense of stiffness in the players and some of the models look like their arms are way too long with small heads might be just me nitpicking the game has definitely improved but there’s still something visually off that doesn’t correlate with me and my controller

Really enjoyed the Demo!
Key word is "Demo", and hopefully they clean some stuff up. Def not as bad as some people are claiming but def not as good as others are. Its a semi solid game. Im done with 2k cause they have done nothing in my eyes to improve the game over the past few yrs. With that being said I will def pick up Live when it goes on sale!
This game is getting close to competing with 2k just not close enough yet!

I haven't unlocked Play Now yet but I'm thoroughly enjoying the 5v5 scrimmage.  I love the movement and weight of the players, and the graphics are night and day better than last year.  They got rid of most of the weird animations and added in lots of good ones.  Collisions and finishes at the rim aren't an eyesore now, they really look great.  So far I've been pleased with the CPU AI as well, they really take what you give them, including a quick drive and mid range pull up.  Maybe not super team specific in terms of style, but these kinds of things didn't happen last year.  I'm definitely seeing too many spectacular blocks at the rim, hopefully that can be addressed via patch and/or sliders.  I also feel like it's a little too easy to hit the green release if you're open, but I'm not seeing tons of open looks so that's ok I suppose.  Looking forward to playing a real game on Superstar.

Overall, for me this is a no-brainer at $40.  It's still behind the other game in some areas, but I really feel like Live is better in other areas and, most importantly, I'm having more fun with Live than I have with a hoops game in several years.  I'm truly impressed, and excited for what the future holds for this franchise.  Hopefully this game will also light a much needed fire under the competition, who has been rather complacent in recent years in my opinion.  Keep grinding, EA!

If any devs are reading: Please don't make Australians have to see kilograms and centermeters instead of pounds and feet. I've spent 15 years following the NBA with pounds and feet, i have zero context operating in centremetres and kilograms. I don't even know my own height in centermetres. I don't even know how to spell centremeters, lol.

My final outlook on the game is that it is a great update from live 18 but I think I'll pass until the price drops. I'm more of an advanced player and live makes everything really simplistic for some reason but as well. Little things like shading a ball handler towards the help defense on the perimeter or choosing which hand I do a hook with is very important to me. It's a great game though

Eventually (hopefully) we will get to the point where the Live Impressions thread reads less like a '2K relief' thread and more detailed community impressions/feedback about the game itself. THEN we will have arrived.

Just played a game & went on such an exciting 14-0 run in the 4th quarter. Warriors were up by 20 going into the 4th & I could not stop them from 3. Some flaws that stick out to me is the amount of times Klay Thompson handles the ball & brings it up court. I’d like to see Draymond handle the ball a little more & create the offense. I also thought Warriors should of called a TO during my 4th quarter run & they never did. The more I play the more I see that it’s far from a finished product, but Live definitely has something with this direction. Hopefully as they continue Franchise mode can get some love.

Everything feels like a step up from Live 18 but how is it that with all the focus on the One you still can't set off ball screens?

Here was an end of game scenario that played out against the CPU for me.

Again, not saying it's going to go this way every time, but they were clearly aware of the situation and trying to push for quick 3's, catch n shoot scenarios. I intentionally tried to miss the FT's to give them an opportunity but apparently the game wanted makes.

Not saying it's perfect by any means, but I liked the action to get Durant the look initially, as well as the quick sprint down the floor and pass to Curry in the corner for a 3.

Try all star at game speed 60 it’s closer to how pro plays but with added difficulty.

I’ve had mostly positive experiences with end of game logic but sometimes for sure there is some head scratching moments.

The bigger offender for me is what someone else pointed out way earlier in this thread. If something awesome happens no one seems to care. Kyrie hit a game tying 3 pointer 5 feet behind the arc with a guy in his face and the crowd or commentary didn’t acknowledge it at all. Buzz kill.

The other one I had was klay hit a 3 at the buzzer to end the game and he did the cut scene were he celebrated with his teammates but they lost the game by 2. Can’t see anyone celebrating the loss.

I played All Star at 60 based on your recommendation and it was without a doubt the best game I had in the demo.



That combined with understanding how the left stick can also control dribble moves (not sure why I didn't understand this about 18 and I played a lot of that game - I don't know why but it just clicked for me finally) really opened up the game.


I had some really nice offensive possessions (again, gotta have motion on Full. It keeps the game alive) and on the other end somehow actually kept the Warriors at 38% for the game. Curry was 3-13 and that was with Smart doing most of the guarding which was also great to see a good defender bother a star player.



Another thing I have noticed more (not saying this is related to game speed; this is just an observation about the game) is how good defenders like to play tight on shooters. Brown and Smart were all over their defensive assignments even before I could select them and control them. At first, I was worried about getting blown by and stepped back but that was hurting me, so I decided to follow their philosophy and saw great success with it.


Still have to be focused and be ready to move and get those hands up. Curry, Thompson and Durant love to pull up with any bit of space.

Had my time with the demo. Just not feeling it fellas. Sorry. I do see improvements however which is good. It will be 2K for me again this year for my basketball fix.

I really have to stop playing on Superstar. I'm positive All Star will give me a better experience....but I'm so damn stubborn and competitive, lol

I win 2/3 games but those losses stick with me. CPU gets so damn cheesy with their runs on SS man.
